South Africa number eight Jasper Wiese has been handed a six-week suspension following his red card incident while playing for Leicester Tigers.

Wiese was red carded in the 67th minute during the final round of the Premiership match against Exeter Chiefs for a dangerous tackle on Ross Vintcent.

Wiese attended an independent disciplinary hearing with the panel chaired by Jeremy Summers sitting with Martyn Wood and Olly Kohn and admitted to the guilt of his charges.

This was his fourth red card in six seasons and was charged with foul play and was handed the minimum suspension of six weeks. It was also his fixture for Leicester Tigers as he is reported to move to Japan next season.

The ban means the World Cup winner will miss the Test against Wales at Twickenham in June along with the two-game home Test series against Ireland and the fixture against Portugal.
