This is the flagship model of the Kindles and comes with 4G LTE. It will be available in the US from November 20 although UK customers will have to wait for it. The tablet features an 8.9-inch high definition LCD screen with a 1,920 by 1,200 pixel resolution.

The device comes with dual Dolby Audio speakers, a 1.5Ghz OMAP 4470 processor and two Wi-Fi antennas, which Amazon says gives the device download and streaming speeds that are 40% faster than the iPad. It is priced at $499 for the 32GB model and $599 for the 64GB model.

American customers wanting to use the 4G service will have to pay a yearly fee.

This high definition version is the same as the 4G model but without the 4G capability. It also isn't available with 64GB of memory. It is available with 16GB at a cost of $299 and with 32GB at a cost of $369 to American customers. It is not currently available to UK customers, but will ship in the United States from November 20

The 7 inch Kindle Fire HD

This device will be released before the other two versions of the Kindle Fire and will also be available in the UK. It features a faster processor than the original Kindle Fire and like the other two new versions of the Kindle Fire it features Doly Audio speakers and two Wi-Fi antennas.

It has a front-facing high definition camera and a battery life of more than 11 hours. Amazon has said that it has the fastest Wi-Fi of any tablet. It weighs less and is thinner than the original Kindle Fire. In the United Kingdom the 16GB version will be available at £159 and the 32GB version will cost £199.

Both will be available for shipping from October 25. In the United States it is priced at $199 for the 16GB version and $249 for the 32GB version.

The 7 inch Kindle Fire

The Kindle Paperwhite 3G

This Kindle replaces the Kindle Touch. It offers a higher-resolution screen with higher contrast than its other Kindles. It also has a built-in light, and the device's battery can last eight weeks with the light on.

It will not be available in the UK but in the United States it will be sold in two versions. One is a "With Special Offers" version which supports adverts and costs US$119. An advert-free Paperwhite will go for US$139. Both will be sold from October 1. The latter version is the one that is likely to be available internationally

The Kindle Paperwhite

Amazon also announced a non-3G version of the Paperwhite. Besides the lack of 3G support, the only difference between the two devices is that this one weighs 0.3 ounce less. It will not be available in the UK but US customers can get their hands on it from October 1
