     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was the Vicar between 1871 and 1908 at East Grinstead, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Sophia Matilda Dent was the daughter of Reverend William Dent.¹ She married Reverend Douglas Yeoman Blakiston, son of Reverend Peyton Blakiston and Frances Powell, on 11 July 1861.¹ She died on 12 May 1912.¹
     From 11 July 1861, her married name became Blakiston.¹
