     Sir Charles Edward Henry Hobhouse, 4th Bt. was born on 30 June 1862.2 He was the son of Sir Charles Parry Hobhouse, 3rd Bt. and Edith Lucy Turton.2 He married, firstly, Georgina Fleetwood Fuller, daughter of George Pargiter Fuller and Emily Georgina Jane Hicks-Beach, on 24 April 1890.1 He married, secondly, Aimee Gladys Griffith, daughter of David Charles Ballinger Griffith, on 18 June 1931.2 He died on 26 June 1941 at age 78, without issue.2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 60th Rifles.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 7th Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps.2 He held the office of Member of the Wiltshire County Council between 1891 and 1919.2 He held the office of Assistant Private Secretary to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of the Colonies between 1892 and 1895.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) Wilts [U.K., 1812] on 30 December 1916.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Wiltshire.2
