     Danus George Moncrieff Skene of Skene, 10th of Pitlour and 14th of Hallyards was born on 2 April 1944.1 He is the son of Major Robert William Dugald Skene, 9th of Pitlour and 13th of Hallyards and Elizabeth Diana Wolfe Sutherland.2 He married Anne Audrey Campbell, daughter of Donald Alexander Campbell, on 17 December 1977.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Sussex University, Brighton, Sussex, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He graduated from University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was a tutor between 1966 and 1968 at Makerere University College, Uganda.1 He graduated from University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG, with a Master of Education (M.Ed.)1 He was a lecturer between 1970 and 1971 at University of Durham, Durham, County Durham, EnglandG.1 He was director of Scottish Chiefs Action for World Development between 1980 and 1983.1 He held the office of Councillor for Perth and Kinross between 1980 and 1984.1 He held the position of Chief of the Name and Arms of Skene from in 1981.1 He was education co-ordinator for Perth and Kinross between 1989 and 1997.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 14 October 1992.1 He lived in 2003 at 77a Great King Street, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1
