Sir Walter Charteris Ross of Cromarty and Gertrude May Gathorne, on 30 August 1937.1 She died in 1989.1

John Anthony Hardinge Giffard, 3rd Earl of Halsbury was born on 4 June 1908.1 He was the son of Hardinge Goulburn Giffard, 2nd Earl of Halsbury and Esme Wallace.2 He married, firstly, Ismay Catherine Crichton-Stuart, daughter of Lt.-Col. Lord Ninian Edward Crichton-Stuart and Hon. Ismay Lucretia Mary Preston, on 1 October 1930.2 He and Ismay Catherine Crichton-Stuart were divorced in 1936.2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Adeline Faith Godley, daughter of Major Harry Crewe Godley and Elizabeth Mary Annesley, on 2 December 1936.1 He died on 14 January 2000 at age 91.1
