Prof. Sandra Dingli and Mr Albert Debono recently attended the SEA-EU Staff Week on Fostering Educational Excellence and Quality Higher Education at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split, Croatia. Both Prof. Dingli and Mr Debono provided valuable contributions to the discussions that followed a number of insightful presentations by academics from the University of Split. As Prof. Dingli said, ‘This was an excellent learning experience on topics that are extremely relevant for academics today, and also a great opportunity to network and to share experiences with other representatives from SEA-EU Universities’.
Presentations were delivered by academics from the University of Split on topics related to fostering educational excellence, these included:
- Enhancing participants’ understanding of critical and creative thinking;
- Elevating the quality of teaching;
- Analysing the quality of higher education from the perspective of transversal skills to better prepare students for future challenges;
- Creating and maintaining inclusive environments within educational institutions;
- Raising awareness of the hidden curriculum which includes the impact of the family, the media, and the social environment on students;
- Increasing awareness about the significance of sustainable practices.
Participation was supported by the International Office through Erasmus+ funds and the SEA-EU Office through the project budget.
