Heat Building Across Much of the Country; Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall in the Midwest

Dangerous heat will persist over the south-central Plains and Mid-South. This heat will spread south and east to the Lower Mississippi Valley, Gulf Coast, and Mid-Atlantic through Friday. Another heatwave is building across the Northwest and Northern High Plains through Saturday.
