Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss was the son of Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss and Christian Abernethy.2 He married, firstly, Euphemia Lundie, daughter of Sir John Lundie of that Ilk and Elizabeth Forrester, before 11 May 1493.2 He married, secondly, Janet Gray, daughter of Andrew Gray, 2nd Lord Gray and Lady Elizabeth Stewart, circa 1512.1 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, EnglandG, killed in action.3
He fought in the Battle of Flodden Field on 9 September 1513.2 He also had a daughter.4
