Conor O'Brien, Prince of Thomond

     Conor O'Brien, Prince of Thomond was the son of Turlogh Donn O'Brien, Prince of Thomond and Raghnailt Macnamara. He married, firstly, Anabel de Burgh, daughter of Ulick Bourke, Lord of Clanricarde.1 He married, secondly, Ellice Fitzgerald, daughter of James FitzMaurice FitzGerald, 10th Earl of Desmond, before 1517.2 He died from 1539 to 1540.2
     He gained the title of Prince Conor of Thomond between 1528 and 1539. On his death, the fully independent sovereignty of the O'Briens may be said to have ended.2

     Eleanor fitz John was the daughter of Reverend John fitz Thomas, 12th Knight of Glin.2 She married Murrough O'Brien, 1st Earl of Thomond, son of Turlogh Donn O'Brien, Prince of Thomond and Raghnailt Macnamara.3 She died after 11 March 1549/50.
     Her married name became O'Brien.1 After her marriage, Eleanor fitz John was styled as Countess of Thomond on 1 July 1543.
