     Alexander Ogilvy, 2nd of Inverquharity was the son of Sir John Ogilvy, 1st of Inverquharity.2 He married Janet Towers, daughter of William Towers.1 He died on 23 January 1445, killed in a fight with the Lindsays.1
     On 15 June 1434 obtained charters from: Alexander Seton, feudal Lord of Gordon, of the lands of Newton, Herdhill and Kinnordie Balbredie, in the (territorial) Barony of Kirriemuir , Nichol Borthwick of the lands of Ladinch (15 March 1438) and William Gifford of B.1 In 1444 had licence to fortify his house and add an iron gate.1
