Drilling hyperbolic groups
Abstract: Given a hyperbolic group $G$ and a maximal infinite cyclic subgroup $\langle g \rangle$, we define a drilling of $G$ along $g$, which is a relatively hyperbolic group pair $(\widehat{G}, P)$. This is inspired by the well-studied procedure of drilling a hyperbolic 3-manifold along an embedded geodesic. Induced quasi-isometries of hyperbolic spaces, Markov chains, and acylindrical hyperbolicity
Abstract: We show that quasi-isometries of (well-behaved) hierarchically hyperbolic groups descend to quasi-isometries of their maximal hyperbolic space. A Combinatorial Structure for Many Hierarchically Hyperbolic Spaces

Abstract: We introduce Property (NL), which indicates that a group does not admit any (isometric) action on a hyperbolic space with loxodromic elements. Deviation inequalities and CLT for random walks on acylindrically hyperbolic groups
Abstract: We study random walks on groups with the feature that, roughly speaking, successive positions of the walk tend to be "aligned". We formalize and quantify this property by means of the notion of deviation inequalities. We show that deviation inequalities have several consequences including Central Limit Theorems, the local Lipschitz continuity of the rate of escape and entropy, as well as linear up… ▽ More

Characterising actions on trees yielding non-trivial quasimorphisms
Abstract: We study the construction of quasimorphisms on groups acting on trees introduced by Monod and Shalom, that we call median quasimorphisms, and in particular we fully characterise actions on trees that give rise to non-trivial median quasimorphisms. Roughly speaking, either the action is highly transitive on geodesics, it fixes a point in the boundary, or there exists an infinite family of non-trivi… ▽ More

Infinitely presented graphical small cancellation groups are acylindrically hyperbolic
Abstract: We prove that infinitely presented graphical $Gr(7)$ small cancellation groups are acylindrically hyperbolic. In particular, infinitely presented classical $C(7)$-groups and, hence, classical $C'(\frac{1}{6})$-groups are acylindrically hyperbolic. We also prove the analogous statements for the larger class of graphical small cancellation presentations over free products. We construct infinitely pr… ▽ More
