We present a new formulation of the MINNLO method to match NNLO QCD calculations with parton showers by using jettiness as a resummation variable. The full derivation for colour-singlet processes is presented using $0$-jettiness starting from the NNLL$^\prime$ resummation formula. We show phenomenological results for Drell-Yan and Higgs-boson production at the LHC and compare our predictions to ATLAS and CMS data. Differences to the original MINNLO formulation using the transverse momentum of the colour singlet as resummation variable are discussed. We further present a comparison of MINNLO predictions with GENEVA. Finally, we extend the formulation of the MINNLO method to 1-jettiness which is applicable to processes with a colour singlet plus one jet in the final state.

Using the entire BaBar $Υ(4S)$ data set, the first two-dimensional unbinned angular analysis of the semileptonic decay $\overline{B} \rightarrow D \ell^- \overlineν_\ell$ is performed, employing hadronic reconstruction of the tag-side $B$ meson from $Υ(4S)\to B\overline{B}$. Here, $\ell$ denotes the light charged leptons $e$ and $μ$. A novel data-driven signal-background separation procedure with minimal dependence on simulation is developed. This procedure preserves all multi-dimensional correlations present in the data. The expected $\sin^2θ_\ell$ dependence of the differential decay rate in the Standard Model is demonstrated, where $θ_\ell$ is the lepton helicity angle. Including input from the latest lattice QCD calculations and previously available experimental data, the underlying form factors are extracted using both model-independent (BGL) and dependent (CLN) methods. Comparisons with lattice calculations show flavor SU(3) symmetry to be a good approximation in the $B_{(s)}\to D_{(s)}$ sector. Using the BGL results, the CKM matrix element $|V_{cb}|=(41.09\pm 1.16)\times 10^{-3}$ and the Standard Model prediction of the lepton-flavor universality violation variable $\mathcal{R}(D)=0.300\pm 0.004$, are extracted. The value of $|V_{cb}|$ from $\overline{B} \rightarrow D \ell^- \overlineν_\ell$ tends to be higher than that extracted using $\overline{B} \rightarrow D \ell^- \overlineν_\ell$. The Standard Model $\mathcal{R}(D)$ calculation is at a $1.97σ$ tension with the latest HFLAV experimental average.

Data preservation is a mandatory specification for any present and future experimental facility and it is a cost-effective way of doing fundamental research by exploiting unique data sets in the light of the continuously increasing theoretical understanding. This document summarizes the status of data preservation in high energy physics. The paradigms and the methodological advances are discussed from a perspective of more than ten years of experience with a structured effort at international level. The status and the scientific return related to the preservation of data accumulated at large collider experiments are presented, together with an account of ongoing efforts to ensure long-term analysis capabilities for ongoing and future experiments. Transverse projects aimed at generic solutions, most of which are specifically inspired by open science and FAIR principles, are presented as well. A prospective and an action plan are also indicated.

A new mechanism has been proposed to simultaneously explain the presence of dark matter and the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the universe. This scenario predicts exotic $B$ meson decays into a baryon and a dark sector anti-baryon ($ψ_D$) with branching fractions accessible at $B$ factories. We present a search for $B \rightarrow Λψ_D$ decays using data collected by the $BABAR$ experiment at SLAC. This reaction is identified by fully reconstructing the accompanying $B$ meson and requiring the presence of a single $Λ$ baryon in the remaining particles. No significant signal is observed, and bounds on the $B \rightarrow Λψ_D$ branching fraction are derived in the range $0.13 - 5.2\times 10^{-5}$ for $1.0 < m_{ψ_D} < 4.2$ GeV/$c^{2}$. These results set strong constraints on the parameter space allowed by the theory.

We present predictions for the gluon-fusion Higgs $p_T$ spectrum at third resummed and fixed order (N$^3$LL$'+$N$^3$LO) including fiducial cuts as required by experimental measurements at the Large Hadron Collider. Integrating the spectrum, we predict for the first time the total fiducial cross section to third order (N$^3$LO) and improved by resummation. The N$^3$LO correction is enhanced by cut-induced logarithmic effects and is not reproduced by the inclusive N$^3$LO correction times a lower-order acceptance. These are the highest-order predictions of their kind achieved so far at a hadron collider.

Abstract:
We consider Drell-Yan production $pp\to V^* X \to L X$ at small $q_T \ll Q$. Experimental measurements require fiducial cuts on the leptonic state $L$, which introduce enhanced, linear power corrections in $q_T/Q$. We consider Drell-Yan production $pp\to V^* X \to L X$ at small $q_T \ll Q$. Experimental measurements require fiducial cuts on the leptonic state $L$, which introduce enhanced, linear power corrections in $q_T/Q$. We show that they can be unambiguously predicted from factorization, and resummed to the same order as the leading-power contribution. We thus obtain predictions for the fiducial $q_T$ spectrum to N3LL and next-to-leading-power in $q_T/Q$. Matching to full NNLO ($α_s^2$), we find that the linear power corrections are indeed the dominant ones, and the remaining fixed-order corrections become almost negligible below $q_T \lesssim 40$ GeV. We also discuss the implications for more complicated observables, and provide predictions for the fiducial $φ^*$ spectrum at N3LL+NNLO. We find excellent agreement with ATLAS and CMS measurements of $q_T$ and $φ^*$. We also consider the $p_T^\ell$ spectrum. We show that it develops leptonic power corrections in $q_T/(Q - 2p_T^\ell)$, which diverge near the Jacobian peak $p_T^\ell \sim Q/2$ and must be kept to all powers to obtain a meaningful result there. Doing so, we obtain for the first time an analytically resummed result for the $p_T^\ell$ spectrum around the Jacobian peak at N3LL+NNLO. Our method is based on performing a complete tensor decomposition for hadronic and leptonic tensors. In practice this is equivalent to often-used recoil prescriptions, for which our results now provide rigorous, formal justification. Our tensor decomposition yields nine Lorentz-scalar hadronic structure functions, which directly map onto the commonly used angular coefficients, but also holds for arbitrary leptonic final states. In particular, for suitably defined Born-projected leptons it still yields a LO-like angular decomposition even when including QED final-state radiation. We also discuss the application to $q_T$ subtractions.

The absolute branching fraction ${\cal B}(B^+\rightarrow X(3872)K^+) = (2.1\pm0.6({\rm stat})\pm0.3({\rm syst}))\times 10^{-4}$ is measured for the first time. It follows that ${\cal B}(X(3872)\rightarrow J/ψπ^+π^-)=(4.1\pm1.3)\%$, supporting the hypothesis of a molecular component for this resonance.

Signal $B^- \to Λ{\overline p} ν{\overlineν}$ candidates are identified by first fully reconstructing a $B^+$ decay in one of many possible exclusive decays to hadronic final states, then examining detector activity that is not associated with this reconstructed $B^+$ decay for evidence of a signal $B^- \to Λ{\overline p} ν{\overlineν}$ decay. The data yield is found to be consistent with the expected background contribution under a null signal hypothesis, resulting in an upper limit of ${{\cal B} (B^- \to Λ{\overline p} ν{\overlineν}) < 3.0\times 10^{-5}}$ at the $90\%$ confidence level.

The analysis is performed with a combination of the final data sets of the \babar\ and Belle experiments containing $471 \times 10^{6}$ and $772 \times 10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected at the $Υ\left(4S\right)$ resonance at the asymmetric-energy B factories PEP-II at SLAC and KEKB at KEK, respectively. We measure $\sin{2β} = 0.80 \pm 0.14 \,(\rm{stat.}) \pm 0.06 \,(\rm{syst.}) \pm 0.03 \,(\rm{model})$ and $\cos{2β} = 0.91 \pm 0.22 \,(\rm{stat.}) \pm 0.09 \,(\rm{syst.}) \pm 0.07 \,(\rm{model})$. The result for the direct measurement of the angle is $β= \left( 22.5 \pm 4.4 \,(\rm{stat.}) \pm 1.2 \,(\rm{syst.}) \pm 0.6 \,(\rm{model}) \right)^{\circ}$. The last quoted uncertainties are due to the composition of the $D^{0} \to K_{S}^{0} π^{+} π^{-}$ decay amplitude model, which is newly established by a Dalitz plot amplitude analysis of a high-statistics $e^{+}e^{-} \to c\bar{c}$ data sample as part of this analysis. We find the first evidence for $\cos2β>0$ at the level of $3.7$ standard deviations. The measurement excludes the trigonometric multifold solution $π/2 - β= (68.1 \pm 0.7)^{\circ}$ at the level of $7.3$ standard deviations and therefore resolves an ambiguity in the determination of the apex of the CKM Unitarity Triangle. The hypothesis of $β= 0^{\circ}$ is ruled out at the level of $5.1$ standard deviations, and thus CP violation is observed in $B^{0} \to D^{(*)} h^{0}$ decays.

Amplitude models are constructed to describe the resonance structure of ${D^{0}\to K^{-}π^{+}π^{+}π^{-}}$ and ${D^{0} \to K^{+}π^{-}π^{-}π^{+}}$ decays using $pp$ collision data collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV with the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. The largest contributions to both decay amplitudes are found to come from axial resonances, with decay modes $D^{0} \to a_1(1260)^{+} K^{-}$ and $D^{0} \to K_1(1270/1400)^{+} π^{-}$ being prominent in ${D^{0}\to K^{-}π^{+}π^{+}π^{-}}$ and $D^{0}\to K^{+}π^{-}π^{-}π^{+}$, respectively. Precise measurements of the lineshape parameters and couplings of the $a_1(1260)^{+}$, $K_1(1270)^{-}$ and $K(1460)^{-}$ resonances are made, and a quasi model-independent study of the $K(1460)^{-}$ resonance is performed. The coherence factor of the decays is calculated from the amplitude models to be $R_{K3π} = 0.459\pm 0.010\,(\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.012\,(\mathrm{syst}) \pm 0.020\,(\mathrm{model})$, which is consistent with direct measurements. These models will be useful in future measurements of the unitary-triangle angle $γ$ and studies of charm mixing and $C\!P$ violation.

The difference between the $CP$ asymmetries in the decays $\varLambda_{c}^{+} \to pK^{-}K^{+}$ and $\varLambda_{c}^{+} \to pπ^{-}π^{+}$ is presented. Proton-proton collision data taken at centre-of-mass energies of $7$ and $8\,\mathrm{TeV}$ collected by the LHCb detector in 2011 and 2012 are used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. The $\varLambda_{c}^{+}$ candidates are reconstructed as part of the $\varLambda_{b}^{0} \to \varLambda_{c}^{+}μ^{-}X$ decay chain. In order to maximize the cancellation of production and detection asymmetries in the difference, the final-state kinematic distributions of the two samples are aligned by applying phase-space-dependent weights to the $\varLambda_{c}^{+} \to pπ^{-}π^{+}$ sample. This alters the definition of the integrated $CP$ asymmetry to $A_{CP}^{\text{wgt}}(pπ^{-}π^{+})$. Both samples are corrected for reconstruction and selection efficiencies across the five-dimensional $\varLambda_{c}^{+}$ decay phase space. The difference in $CP$ asymmetries is found to be \begin{align*}
Δ{A^{\text{wgt}}_{CP}} &= A_{CP}(pK^{-}K^{+}) - A_{CP}^{\text{wgt}}(pπ^{-}π^{+})\\
&= (0.30 \pm 0.91 \pm 0.61)\,\%, \end{align*} where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.

They are found to be between 0.02 and 0.14 at $95\%$ confidence level for $B_c(2^{1}S_{0})^+$ and $B_c(2^{3}S_{1})^+$ in the mass ranges $[6830, 6890] \,{\mathrm{MeV}}/c^{2}$ and $[6795,6890] \,{\mathrm{MeV}}/c^{2}$, respectively.

We report measurements of charm-mixing parameters based on the decay-time-dependent ratio of $D^0\to K^+π^-$ to $D^0\to K^-π^+$ rates. The analysis uses a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $5.0$ fb$^{-1}$ recorded by the LHCb experiment from 2011 through 2016. Assuming charge-parity (CP) symmetry, the mixing parameters are determined to be $x'^2=(3.9 \pm 2.7) \times10^{-5}$, $y'=(5.28 \pm 0.52) \times 10^{-3}$, and $R_D=(3.454 \pm 0.031)\times10^{-3}$. Without this assumption, the measurement is performed separately for $D^0$ and $\overline{D}{}^0$ mesons, yielding a direct CP-violating asymmetry $A_D =(-0.1\pm9.1)\times10^{-3}$, and magnitude of the ratio of mixing parameters $1.00< |q/p| <1.35$ at the $68.3\%$ confidence level. All results include statistical and systematic uncertainties and improve significantly upon previous single-measurement determinations. No evidence for CP violation in charm mixing is observed.

Six decay modes are observed, among which $Λ_{b}^{0} \to pK^{-}π^{+}π^{-}$, $Λ_{b}^{0} \to pK^{-}K^{+}K^{-}$, $Ξ_{b}^{0} \to pK^{-}π^{+}π^{-}$ and $Ξ_{b}^{0} \to pK^{-} π^{+}K^{-}$ are established for the first time. Their branching fractions (including the ratio of hadronisation fractions in the case of the $Ξ_{b}^{0}$ baryon) are determined relative to the $Λ_{b}^{0} \to Λ_{c}^{+}π^{-}$ decay.

The ratio of branching fractions ${\cal{R}}(D^{*-})\equiv {\cal{B}}(B^0 \to D^{*-} τ^+ ν_τ)/{\cal{B}}(B^0 \to D^{*-} μ^+ν_μ)$ is measured using a data sample of proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3$~$fb$^{-1}$. The $τ$ lepton is reconstructed with three charged pions in the final state. A novel method is used that exploits the different vertex topologies of signal and backgrounds to isolate samples of semitauonic decays of $b$ hadrons with high purity. Using the $B^0 \to D^{*-}π^+π^-π^+$ decay as the normalization channel, the ratio ${\cal{B}}(B^0 \to D^{*-} τ^+ ν_τ)/{\cal{B}}(B^0 \to D^{*-}π^+π^-π^+)$ is measured to be $1.97 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.18$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. An average of branching fraction measurements for the normalization channel is used to derive ${\cal{B}}(B^0 \to D^{*-} τ^+ ν_τ) = (1.42 \pm 0.094 \pm 0.129 \pm 0.054) \%$, where the third uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of ${\cal{B}}(B^0\to D^{*-}π^+π^-π^+)$. A test of lepton flavor universality is performed using the well-measured branching fraction ${\cal{B}}(B^0 \to D^{*-} μ^+ν_μ)$ to compute ${\cal{R}}(D^{*-}) = 0.291 \pm 0.019 \pm 0.026 \pm 0.013$, where the third uncertainty originates from the uncertainties on ${\cal{B}}(B^0 \to D^{*-}π^+π^-π^+)$ and ${\cal{B}}(B^0 \to D^{*-} μ^+ν_μ)$. This measurement is in agreement with the Standard Model prediction and with previous measurements.

\begin{align*} \frac{\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow p π^{-} π^{+})}{\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow p K^{-} π^{+})} & = (7.44 \pm 0.08 \pm 0.18)\,\%, \frac{\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow p K^{-} K^{+})}{\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow p K^{-} π^{+})} &= (1.70 \pm 0.03 \pm 0.03)\,\%, \frac{\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow p π^{-} K^{+})}{\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow p K^{-} π^{+})} & = (0.165 \pm 0.015 \pm 0.005 )\,\%, \end{align*} where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The production cross-sections summed over both charges and integrated over the transverse momentum range $0<p_{\text{T}}< 40$ GeV/$c$ and the rapidity range $2.0<y<4.5$ are measured to be $σ(pp \rightarrow B^{\pm} X, \sqrt{s} = \text{7 TeV}) = 43.0 \pm 0.2 \pm 2.5 \pm 1.7μb,$ $σ(pp \rightarrow B^{\pm} X, \sqrt{s} = \text{13 TeV}) = 86.6 \pm 0.5 \pm 5.4 \pm 3.4μb,$ where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, and the third are due to the limited knowledge of the $B^{\pm}\rightarrow J/ψK^{\pm}$ branching fraction. The ratio of the cross-section at 13 TeV to that at 7 TeV is determined to be $2.02\pm0.02\text{(stat)}\pm0.12\text{(syst)}$. Differential cross-sections are also reported as functions of $p_{\text{T}}$ and $y$. All results are in agreement with theoretical calculations based on the state-of-art fixed next-to-leading order quantum chromodynamics.

The prompt-like $A^{\prime}$ search covers the mass range from near the dimuon threshold up to 70 GeV, while the long-lived $A^{\prime}$ search is restricted to the low-mass region $214<m(A^{\prime})<350$ MeV. No evidence for a signal is found, and 90% confidence level exclusion limits are placed on the $γ$-$A^{\prime}$ kinetic-mixing strength. The constraints placed on prompt-like dark photons are the most stringent to date for the mass range $10.6 < m(A^{\prime}) < 70$ GeV, and are comparable to the best existing limits for $m(A^{\prime}) < 0.5$ GeV. The search for long-lived dark photons is the first to achieve sensitivity using a displaced-vertex signature.

The analysis uses a sample of $pp$ collision data recorded with the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. The $CP$-violation observables are measured to be \begin{equation*} \begin{aligned} C\left(B^0\rightarrow J/ψK^0_\mathrm{S}\right)&=\phantom{+}\,0.12\,\pm\,0.07\pm\,0.02\,, S\left(B^0\rightarrow J/ψK^0_\mathrm{S}\right)&=\phantom{+}\,0.83\,\pm\,0.08\pm\,0.01\,, C\left(B^0\rightarrowψ(2S) K^0_\mathrm{S}\right)&=-\,0.05\,\pm\,0.10\pm\,0.01\,, S\left(B^0\rightarrowψ(2S) K^0_\mathrm{S}\right)&=\phantom{+}\,0.84\,\pm\,0.10\pm\,0.01\,, \end{aligned} \end{equation*} where $C$ describes $CP$ violation in the direct decay, and $S$ describes $CP$ violation in the interference between the amplitudes for the direct decay and for the decay after $B^0$-$\overline{B}^0$ oscillation. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The two sets of results are compatible with the previous LHCb measurement using $B^0\rightarrow J/ψK^0_\mathrm{S}$ decays, where the $J/ψ$ meson was reconstructed from two muons. The averages of all three sets of LHCb results are \begin{equation*} \begin{aligned} C\left(B^0\rightarrow[c\bar{c}]K^0_\mathrm{S}\right)&=-0.017 \pm 0.029\,, S\left(B^0\rightarrow[c\bar{c}]K^0_\mathrm{S}\right)&=\phantom{+}0.760 \pm 0.034\,, \end{aligned} \end{equation*} under the assumption that higher-order contributions to the decay amplitudes are negligible. The uncertainties include statistical and systematic contributions.

The decay $Z \rightarrow b \bar{b}$ is reconstructed in $pp$ collision data, corresponding to 2 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity, collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV. The product of the $Z$ production cross-section and the $Z \rightarrow b \bar{b}$ branching fraction is measured for candidates in the fiducial region defined by two particle-level $b$-quark jets with pseudorapidities in the range $2.2 < η< 4.2$, with transverse momenta $p_{T}>20$ GeV and dijet invariant mass in the range $45 < m_{jj} < 165$ GeV. From a signal yield of $5462 \pm 763$ $Z \rightarrow b \bar{b}$ events, where the uncertainty is statistical, a production cross-section times branching fraction of $332 \pm 46 \pm 59$ pb is obtained, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The measured significance of the signal yield is 6.0 standard deviations. This measurement represents the first observation of the $Z \rightarrow b \bar{b}$ production in the forward region of $pp$ collisions.

Bose-Einstein correlations of same-sign charged pions, produced in proton-proton collisions at a 7 TeV centre-of-mass energy, are studied using a data sample collected by the LHCb experiment. The signature for Bose-Einstein correlations is observed in the form of an enhancement of pairs of like-sign charged pions with small four-momentum difference squared. The charged-particle multiplicity dependence of the Bose-Einstein correlation parameters describing the correlation strength and the size of the emitting source is investigated, determining both the correlation radius and the chaoticity parameter. The measured correlation radius is found to increase as a function of increasing charged-particle multiplicity, while the chaoticity parameter is seen to decrease.

The first observation of the decay of a $B^0$ meson to a purely baryonic final state, $B^0 \to p \bar{p}$, is reported. The proton-proton collision data sample used was collected with the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{-1}$. The branching fraction is determined to be $${\cal B}(B^0 \to p \bar{p}) = ( 1.25 \pm 0.27 \pm 0.18 ) \times 10^{-8} ,$$ where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The decay mode $B^0 \to p \bar{p}$ is the rarest decay of the $B^0$ meson observed to date. The decay $B_s^0 \to p \bar{p}$ is also investigated. No signal is seen and the upper limit ${\cal B}(B_s^0 \to p \bar{p}) < 1.5 \times 10^{-8}$ at 90% confidence level is set on the branching fraction.

For the first time ${\cal{R}}(D^{*-})$ is determined using the $τ$ lepton decays with three charged pions in the final state. The $B^0 \to D^{*-} τ^+ν_τ$ yield is normalized to that of the $B^0\to D^{*-} π^+π^-π^+$ mode, providing a measurement of ${\cal{B}}(B^0\to D^{*-}τ^+ν_τ)/{\cal{B}}(B^0\to D^{*-}π^+π^-π^+) = 1.97 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.18$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The value of ${\cal{B}}(B^0 \to D^{*-} τ^+ ν_τ) = (1.42 \pm 0.094 \pm 0.129 \pm 0.054)\% $ is obtained, where the third uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of the branching fraction of the normalization mode. Using the well-measured branching fraction of the $B^0 \to D^{*-} μ^+ν_μ$ decay, a value of ${\cal{R}}(D^{*-}) = 0.291 \pm 0.019 \pm 0.026 \pm 0.013$ is established, where the third uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of the branching fractions of the normalization and $B^0\to D^{*-}μ^+ν_μ$ modes. This measurement is in agreement with the Standard Model prediction and with previous results.

Measurements of $CP$ observables in $B^\pm \rightarrow D^{(*)} K^\pm$ and $B^\pm \rightarrow D^{(*)} π^\pm$ decays are presented, where $D^{(*)}$ indicates a neutral $D$ or $D^*$ meson that is an admixture of $D^{(*)0}$ and $\bar{D}^{(*)0}$ states. Decays of the $D^*$ meson to the $Dπ^0$ and $Dγ$ final states are partially reconstructed without inclusion of the neutral pion or photon, resulting in distinctive shapes in the $B$ candidate invariant mass distribution. Decays of the $D$ meson are fully reconstructed in the $K^\pm π^\mp$, $K^+ K^-$ and $π^+ π^-$ final states. The analysis uses a sample of charged $B$ mesons produced in $pp$ collisions collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.0, 1.0 and 2.0 fb$^{-1}$ taken at centre-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}$ = 7, 8 and 13 TeV, respectively. The study of $B^{\pm} \to D^{*} K^{\pm}$ and $B^{\pm} \to D^{*} π^{\pm}$ decays using a partial reconstruction method is the first of its kind, while the measurement of $B^{\pm} \to D K^{\pm}$ and $B^{\pm} \to D π^{\pm}$ decays is an update of previous LHCb measurements. The $B^{\pm} \to D K^{\pm}$ results are the most precise to date.

Using decays to $φ$-meson pairs, the inclusive production of charmonium states in $b$-hadron decays is studied with $pp$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0fb^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. Denoting by $B_C\equiv B(b\to CX)\times B(C\toφφ)$ the inclusive branching fraction of a $b$ hadron to a charmonium state $C$ that decays into a pair of $φ$ mesons, ratios $R^{C1}_{C2}\equiv B_{C1}/B_{C2}$ are determined as $R^{χ_{c0}}_{η_c(1S)}=0.147\pm0.023\pm0.011$, $R^{χ_{c1}}_{η_c (1S)}=0.073\pm0.016\pm0.006$, $R^{χ_{c2}}_{η_c (1S)}=0.081\pm0.013\pm0.005$, $R^{χ_{c1}}_{χ_{c0}}=0.50\pm0.11\pm0.01$, $R^{χ_{c2}}_{χ_{c0}}=0.56\pm0.10\pm0.01$ and $R^{η_c (2S)}_{η_c(1S)}=0.040\pm0.011\pm0.004$. Here and below the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Upper limits at $90\%$ confidence level for the inclusive production of $X(3872)$, $X(3915)$ and $χ_{c2}(2P)$ states are obtained as $R^{X(3872)}_{χ_{c1}}<0.34$, $R^{X(3915)}_{χ_{c0}}<0.12$ and $R^{χ_{c2}(2P)}_{χ_{c2}}<0.16$. Differential cross-sections as a function of transverse momentum are measured for the $η_c(1S)$ and $χ_c$ states. The branching fraction of the decay $B_s^0\rightarrowφφφ$ is measured for the first time, $B(B_s^0\toφφφ)=(2.15\pm0.54\pm0.28\pm0.21_{B})\times 10^{-6}$. Here the third uncertainty is due to the branching fraction of the decay $B_s^0\toφφ$, which is used for normalization. No evidence for intermediate resonances is seen. A preferentially transverse $φ$ polarization is observed. The measurements allow the determination of the ratio of the branching fractions for the $η_c(1S)$ decays to $φφ$ and $p\bar{p}$ as $B(η_c(1S)\toφφ)/B(η_c(1S)\to p\bar{p})=1.79\pm0.14\pm0.32$.

A search for the decay $K^0_{\scriptscriptstyle S}\toμ^+μ^-$ is performed, based on a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb$^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The observed yield is consistent with the background-only hypothesis, yielding a limit on the branching fraction of ${\cal B}(K^0_{\scriptscriptstyle S}\toμ^+μ^-) < 0.8~(1.0) \times 10^{-9}$ at $90\%~(95\%)$ confidence level. This result improves the previous upper limit on the branching fraction by an order of magnitude.

A search is presented for long-lived particles with a mass between 25 and 50 GeV/$c^2$ and a lifetime between 2 and 500 ps, using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.0 fb$^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The particles are assumed to be pair-produced in the decay of a 125 GeV/$c^2$ Standard-Model-like Higgs boson. The experimental signature is a single long-lived particle, identified by a displaced vertex with two associated jets. No excess above background is observed and limits are set on the production cross-section as a function of the mass and lifetime of the long-lived particle.
