We continue our previous determination of the masses of the sequential fourth generation quarks in an extension of the Standard Model, and predict the mass $m_4$ ($m_L$) of the fourth generation neutrino $ν_4$ (charged lepton $L$) by solving the dispersion relation associated with heavy fermion decays. The results $m_4\approx 170$ GeV and $m_L\approx 270$ GeVare extracted from the dispersive analyses of the $t\to d e^+ν_4$ and $L^-\to ν_1 \bar t d$ decay widths, respectively, where $t$ ($d$, $e^+$, $ν_1$) denotes a top quark (down quark, positron, light neutrino). The predictions are then cross-checked by examining the $L^-\to ν_4 \bar u d$ decay, $\bar u$ being an anti-up quark. It is shown that the fourth generation leptons with the above masses survive the current experimental bounds from Higgs boson decays into photon pairs and from the oblique parameters. We also revisit how the existence of the fourth generation leptons impacts the dispersive constraints on the neutrino masses and the Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata (PMNS) matrix elements. It is found that the unitarity of the $3\times 3$ PMNS matrix holds well up to corrections of $O(m_ν^2/m_W^2)$, $m_ν$ ($m_W$) being a light neutrino (the $W$ boson) mass, whose mixing angles and $CP$ phase prefer the values $θ_{12}\approx 34^\circ$, $θ_{23}\approx 46^\circ$, $θ_{13}\approx 4^\circ$ and $δ\approx 235^\circ$ in the normal-ordering scenario for neutrino masses. On the contrary, the unitarity of the $3\times 3$ Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix is violated at the level $m_b^2/m_W^2\sim 10^{-3}$, $m_b$ being the $b$ quark mass, as the same formalism is applied to the quark mixing.

In this work, we systematically calculate transition magnetic moments, radiative decay widths, and axial-vector coupling constants of octet hidden-charm molecular pentaquark states with different flavor representations in constituent quark model. We discuss the relations between transition magnetic moments and decay widths for pentaquark states. For octet pentaquark states with the $8_{1f}$ and $8_{2f}$ flavor representations, decay widths of the processes $P_ψ|\frac{3}{2}^-\rangle_{(\frac{1}{2}^+\otimes1^-)}\to P_ψ|\frac{1}{2}^-\rangle_{(\frac{1}{2}^+\otimes0^-)}γ$ and $P_ψ|\frac{1}{2}^-\rangle_{(\frac{1}{2}^+\otimes1^-)}\to P_ψ|\frac{1}{2}^-\rangle_{(\frac{1}{2}^+\otimes0^-)}γ$ are quite close, decay widths of the $P_ψ|\frac{3}{2}^-\rangle_{(\frac{1}{2}^+\otimes1^-)}\to P_ψ|\frac{1}{2}^-\rangle_{(\frac{1}{2}^+\otimes1^-)}γ$ process are close to zero, and we notice that the axial-vector coupling constants of the pentaquark states are generally smaller than that of the nucleon.

Heavy neutral leptons $N$ are introduced to explain the tiny neutrino masses via the seesaw mechanism. For proper small mixing parameter $V_{\ell N}$, the heavy neutral leptons $N$ become long-lived, which leads to the displaced vertex signature at colliders. In this paper, we consider the displaced heavy neutral lepton from the neutrinophilic Higgs doublet $Φ_ν$ decay. The new Higgs doublet with MeV scale VEV can naturally explain the tiny neutrino masses with TeV scale $N$. Different from current experimental searches via the $W^\pm\to \ell^\pm N$ decay, the new decays as $H^\pm\to \ell^\pm N$ are not suppressed by the small mixing parameter $V_{\ell N}$. Therefore, a larger parameter space is expected to be detected at colliders. We then investigate the promising region at the 14 TeV HL-LHC and the 3 TeV CLIC. According to our simulation, the DV signature could probe $|V_{\ell N}|^2\gtrsim10^{-19}$ with $m_N<m_{H^+}$, which covers the seesaw predicted value $|V_{\ell N}|^2\sim m_ν/m_N$. We could probe $m_{H^+}\lesssim1200$ GeV at the 14 TeV HL-LHC and $m_{H^+}\lesssim1490$ GeV at the 3 TeV CLIC.

Using the gauge-gravity duality, we investigate the fermionic correlation function in the D(-1)-D3 brane system which describes the instantonic plasma in holography. In this system, the charge of the D(-1) brane as the D-instanton gives the gluon condensate. To simplify the holographic setup, we first reduce briefly the ten-dimensional supergravity background produced by D(-1)-D3-branes to an equivalently five-dimensional background. Then using the standard method for computing the Green function in the AdS/CFT dictionary, we derive the equations for the fermionic correlation functions and solve them numerically with the infalling boundary condition. Our numerical results illustrate that the fermionic correlation function as spectral function includes two branches of the dispersion curves whose behavior is very close to the results obtained from the method of hard thermal loop. And the effective mass generated by the medium effect of fermion splits into two values due to the spin-dependent interactions induced by instantons. Therefore, this work in holography demonstrates the instantonic configuration is very influential to the fermionic plasmino in plasma.

In this work we try to search for signals generated by ultra-heavy dark matter at the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) data. We look for possible gamma-ray by dark matter annihilation or decay from 16 dwarf spheroidal galaxies in the field of view of LHAASO. Dwarf spheroidal galaxies are among the most promising targets for indirect detection of dark matter which have low fluxes of astrophysical $γ$-ray background while large amount of dark matter. By analyzing more than 700 days observational data at LHAASO, no significant dark matter signal from 1 TeV to 1 EeV is detected. Accordingly we derive the most stringent constraints on the ultra-heavy dark matter annihilation cross-section up to EeV. The constraints on the lifetime of dark matter in decay mode are also derived.

Utilizing an equivparticle model with both linear confinement and leading-order perturbative interactions, we obtain systematically the properties of strangelets and nonstrange quark matter ($ud$QM) nuggets at various baryon ($A$) and charge ($Z$) numbers, where the detailed single-quark-energy levels are fixed by solving Dirac equations in mean-field approximation (MFA). We then examine the structures of compact dwarfs made of light strangelets or $ud$QM nuggets forming body-centered cubic lattices in a uniform electron background. Despite the strangelets and $ud$QM nuggets generally become more stable at larger $A$, the compact dwarfs are still stable since the fusion reactions between those objects do not take place in the presence of a Coulomb barrier, which is similar to the cases of light nuclei in normal white dwarfs. If $ud$QM dwarfs or strangelet dwarfs are covered with normal matter, their masses and radii become larger but do not exceed those of ordinary white dwarfs. Finally, we investigate the radial oscillation frequencies of $ud$QM dwarfs and strangelet dwarfs, and find that their frequencies are typically higher than traditional white dwarfs. The stability of compact dwarfs are then analysised by examining radial oscillation frequencies of the fundamental mode, where compact dwarfs covered by normal matter are still stable.

The invisible decay includes two decay modes: $ n \rightarrow { inv} $ and $ nn \rightarrow { inv} $. The invisible decays of $s$-shell neutrons in $^{12}{\rm C}$ will leave a highly excited residual nucleus. Subsequently, some de-excitation modes of the excited residual nuclei can produce a time- and space-correlated triple coincidence signal in the JUNO detector. Based on a full Monte Carlo simulation informed with the latest available data, we estimate all backgrounds, including inverse beta decay events of the reactor antineutrino $\barν_e$, natural radioactivity, cosmogenic isotopes and neutral current interactions of atmospheric neutrinos. Pulse shape discrimination and multivariate analysis techniques are employed to further suppress backgrounds. With two years of exposure, JUNO is expected to give an order of magnitude improvement compared to the current best limits. After 10 years of data taking, the JUNO expected sensitivities at a 90% confidence level are $τ/B( n \rightarrow { inv} ) > 5.0 \times 10^{31} \, {\rm yr}$ and $τ/B( nn \rightarrow { inv} ) > 1.4 \times 10^{32} \, {\rm yr}$.

We have derived previously the relations between the neutrino masses and mixing angles in a dispersive analysis on the mixing of neutral leptonic states. The only involved assumption is that the electroweak symmetry of the Standard Model (SM) is restored at a high energy scale in some new physics scenario, which diminishes the box diagrams responsible for the mixing. Here we include corrections to the analysis up to three loops, arising from exchanges of additional neutral and charged scalars in the electroweak symmetric phase. The solution to the dispersion relation for the $μ^-e^+$-$μ^+e^-$ mixing generates a typical neutrino mass $m_ν\sim O(1)$ eV in the SM unambiguously. The solution also favors the normal ordering of the neutrino masses over the inverted one, and links the large electroweak symmetry restoration, i.e., new physics scale to the small neutrino mass.

In this paper, we analyze the top-quark decay $t\to Wb$ up to next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^{3}$LO) QCD corrections. For the purpose, we first adopt the principle of maximum conformality (PMC) to deal with the initial pQCD series. Then we adopt the Bayesian analysis approach, which quantifies the unknown higher-order terms' contributions in terms of a probability distribution, to estimate the possible magnitude of the uncalculated N$^{4}$LO-terms. In our calculation, an effective strong coupling constant $α_{s}(Q_{*})$ is determined by using all non-conformal $\{β_{i}\}$ terms associated with the renormalization group equation. This leads to a next-to-leading-log PMC scale $Q_{*}^{(\rm NLL)}=10.3048$ GeV, which can be regarded as the correct momentum flow of the process. Consequently, we obtain an improved scale-invariant pQCD prediction for the top-quark decay width, e.g. $Γ_{t}^{\rm tot} = 1.3120 \pm 0.0038$ GeV, whose error is the squared average of the uncertainties from the decay width of $W$-boson $ΔΓ_{W} = \pm 0.042$ GeV, the coupling constant $Δα_{s}(m_{Z}) = \pm 0.0009$, and the predicted N$^{4}$LO-terms. The magnitude of the top-quark pole mass greatly affects the total decay width. By further taking the PDG top-quark pole mass error from cross-section measurements into consideration, e.g. $Δm_{t} = \pm 0.7$ GeV, we obtain $Γ_{t}^{\rm tot} = 1.3120 ^{+0.0194}_{-0.0192}$ GeV.

The CME-sensitive, azimuthal correlator difference $Δγ$ between opposite-sign (OS) and same-sign (SS) charged hadron pairs is contaminated by a major physics background proportional to the particle elliptic anisotropy ($v_2$). The CME signal, on the other hand, contributes to the difference in the pair elliptic anisotropies between OS and SS pairs ($Δv_{2,\rm pair}$). We investigate $Δv_{2,\rm pair}$ and found its sensitivity to CME to be similar to that of the $Δγ$ observable.

We discuss heavy particles that can be used to pin down the faithful Standard Model (SM) gauge group and their patterns in the SM effective field theory (SMEFT). These heavy particles are not invariant under a specific $\mathbb{Z}_6$ subgroup of $SU(3)_c\times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y$, which however acts trivially on all the SM particles, hence the faithful SM gauge group remains undetermined. Different realizations of the faithful SM gauge group correspond to different spectra of heavy particles, and they also correspond to distinct sets of line operators with one-form global symmetry acting on them. We show that the heavy particles not invariant under the $\mathbb{Z}_6$ group cannot appear in tree-level ultraviolet completions of SMEFT, this enforces us to consider one-loop UV completions of SMEFT to identify the $\mathbb{Z}_6$ non-invariant heavy particles. We demonstrate with examples that correlations between Wilson coefficients provide an efficient way to examine models with $\mathbb{Z}_6$ non-invariant heavy particles. Finally, we prove that all the scalars that can trigger electroweak symmetry breaking must be invariant under the $\mathbb{Z}_6$ group, hence they cannot be used to probe the faithful SM gauge group.

There is a novel concept that detecting $χ$ from evaporating primordial black holes (PBHs). We search for $χ$ emitted from PBHs by investigating their interaction with target electrons. The examined PBH masses range from 1$\times$10$^{15}$ to 7$\times$10$^{16}$ g under the current limits of PBH abundance $f_{PBH}$. Using 205.4 kg$\cdot$day data obtained from the CDEX-10 experiment conducted in the China Jinping Underground Laboratory, we exclude the $χ$--electron ($χ$--$e$) elastic-scattering cross section $σ_{χe} \sim 5\times10^{-29}$ cm$^2$ for $χ$ with a mass $m_χ\lesssim$ 0.1 keV from our results. If ($m_χ$, $σ_{χe}$) can be determined in the future, DD experiments are expected to impose strong constraints on $f_{PBH}$ for large $M_{PBH}$s.

We report a first study of the semileptonic decay $D^0\rightarrow K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ by analyzing an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample of $7.9~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. The absolute branching fraction of $D^0\to K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ is measured for the first time to be $(0.729 \pm 0.014_{\rm stat} \pm 0.011_{\rm syst})\%$. Based on an amplitude analysis, the $S\text{-}{\rm wave}$ contribution is determined to be $(5.76 \pm 0.35_{\rm stat} \pm 0.29_{\rm syst})\%$ of the total decay rate in addition to the dominated $K^{*}(892)^-$ component. The branching fraction of $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ$ is given to be $(2.062 \pm 0.039_{\rm stat} \pm 0.032_{\rm syst})\%$, which improves the precision of the world average by a factor of 5. Combining with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)$, the ratio of the branching fractions obtained is $\frac{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ)}{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)} = 0.96\pm0.08$, in agreement with lepton flavor universality. Furthermore, assuming single-pole dominance parameterization, the most precise hadronic form factor ratios for $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^{-} μ^+ν_μ$ are extracted to be $r_{V}=V(0)/A_1(0)=1.37 \pm 0.09_{\rm stat} \pm 0.03_{\rm syst}$ and $r_{2}=A_2(0)/A_1(0)=0.76 \pm 0.06_{\rm stat} \pm 0.02_{\rm syst}$.

At $m_π\approx 417$ MeV where the effective range expansion is valid, the compositeness of the bound state is $X\approx 1$ and indicates a predominant $D\bar{D}^*$ component. This state may correspond to $X(3872)$. On the other hand, our results of the finite volume energies also hint at the existence of a $1^{++}$ resonance below 4.0 GeV with a width around 60 MeV.

In this paper, we first present a more efficient derivation of the asymmetries which is applicable to both transverse and longitudinal SSAs, and correct some inconsistencies in our previous calculation. We then adapt the method to compute transverse SSAs in Drell-Yan proportional to $g_T(x)$ and its gluonic counterpart, and discuss the crossing symmetry between the results for SIDIS and Drell-Yan. Finally, we present numerical results for various asymmetries measurable at the EIC, RHIC, COMPASS and Fermilab (SpinQuest), including also part of the genuine twist-three corrections to $g_T(x)$ from a recent global analysis. We find that the asymmetries can reach percent-level magnitude, if the kinematics predominantly probes the large-$x$ (valence) region of the polarized proton, but remain at sub-percent levels otherwise.

In this work, we investigate the worldvolume fermion on the flavor brane in the D0-D4/D8 model which is holographically equivalent to the four-dimensional QCD with a theta term. The action for the worldvolume fermion is obtained by the T-duality rules in string theory and we accordingly derive its effectively five-dimensional, canonical four-dimensional forms by using the systematical dimensional reduction and decomposition of spinor. Afterwards, we employ the AdS/CFT dictionary in order to evaluate the two-point correlation function as the spectral function for the worldvolume fermion and interpret the fermion as baryon by analyzing its quantum number with the baryon vertex in holography. In this sense, the interacted action involving the worldvolume fermion and gauge field on the flavor brane are finally derived in holography which describes the various interaction of meson and baryon with the theta angle in large-N limit. Therefore, this work provides a holographic picture to describe baryon and its interactions based on string theory, in particular, in the presence of a theta angle.

The Higgs boson pair production at the LHC provides a probe to the Higgs boson self-coupling. The higher-order QCD corrections in this process are sizable and must be taken into account in comparison with data. Due to the small cross section, it is necessary to consider at least one of the Higgs bosons decaying to bottom quarks. The QCD corrections to the decay processes would also be important in such cases. We present a full calculation of the total and differential cross sections for the $b\bar{b}γγ$ final state with next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections. After applying typical kinematic cuts in the final state, we find that QCD NLO corrections in the decay decrease the LO result by $19\%$ and reduce the scale uncertainties by a factor of two. The QCD corrections to the invariant mass $m_{jjγγ}$ distribution, the transverse momentum spectra of the leading bottom quark jet and photon are significant and can not be approximated by a constant factor.

We explore using the 2-Wasserstein distance from optimal transport theory, both as an anomaly score and as input to interpretable machine learning methods, for event-level anomaly detection at the Large Hadron Collider. The choice of ground space plays a key role in optimizing performance. We comment on the feasibility of implementing these methods in the L1 trigger system.

In this work, we calculate the magnetic moment and axial charge of the octet hidden-charm molecular pentaquark family in quark model. The Coleman-Glashow sum-rule for the magnetic moments of pentaquark family is always fulfilled independently of SU(3) symmetry breaking. In the $ 8_{2f} $ flavor representation, the magnetic moments of hidden-charm molecular pentaquark states with spin configuration $J^{P}=\frac{1}{2}^{-}(\frac{1}{2}^{+}\otimes0^{-})$ are all equal to $μ_{c}=0.38μ_{N}$. The axial charges of octet hidden-charm molecular pentaquark states are quite small compared to the axial charge of nucleon. The axial charges of the pentaquark states with the spin configuration $J^{P}=\frac{1}{2}^{-}(\frac{1}{2}^{+}\otimes0^{-})$ in $8_{2f}$ flavor representation are all zero.

We study the correlation functions of the $B^0 D^+, B^+ D^0$ system, which develops a bound state of approximately $40$ MeV, using inputs consistent with the $T_{cc}(3875)$ state. Then we address the inverse problem starting from these correlation functions to determine the scattering observables related to the system, including the existence of the bound state and its molecular nature. The important output of the approach is the uncertainty with which these observables can be obtained, considering errors in the $B^0 D^+, B^+ D^0$ correlation functions typical of current values in present correlation functions. We find that it is possible to obtain scattering lengths and effective ranges with relative high precision and the existence of a bound state. Although the pole position is obtained with errors of the order of $50 \%$ of the binding energy, the molecular probability of the state is obtained with a very small error of the order of $6\%$. All these findings can serve as motivation to perform such measurements in future runs of high energy hadron collisions.

We investigate the nano-Hertz gravitational waves emitted by axion domain walls annihilation from the double level crossings. The double level crossings exists in the mass mixing between two axion fields, one of which is the $Z_{\mathcal N}$ QCD axion. Here we consider a general mixing case that the heavy and light mass eigenvalues do not necessarily have to coincide with the axion masses. In order to form the domain walls, the axions should start to oscillate slightly before the first level crossing, and the initial oscillation energy density should be large to climb over the barrier of potential. In this case, the axion dynamics has a chaotic run-away behavior, which is considered to be accompanied by domain walls formation. Then we investigate the gravitational waves emitted by axion domain walls annihilation, which is determined by their peak frequency and peak amplitude. Finally, we show the predicted nano-Hertz gravitational waves spectra from the double level crossings, which can be tested by the current and future pulsar timing array projects.

In this paper, we study the distribution of hadron multiplicity over the hadron opening angle with respect to the jet axis in various flavors of jets. The corresponding measurement can be the most straightforward and simplest to explore the dynamical evolution of the radiations in the corresponding jet, which can expose the mass effect. We also propose the transverse energy-weighted angular distribution which sheds light on the interplay between perturbative and nonperturbative effects in the radiation. With Monte-Carlo simulations, our calculation shows that the dead cone effect can be clearly seen by taking the ratio between the b jet and the light-quark (inclusive) jet, promising to be measured at the LHC in the future.

The full data set of the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment is used to probe the effect of the charged current non-standard interactions (CC-NSI) on neutrino oscillation experiments. Two different approaches are applied and constraints on the corresponding CC-NSI parameters are obtained with the neutrino flux taken from the Huber-Mueller model with a $5\%$ uncertainty. For the quantum mechanics-based approach (QM-NSI), the constraints on the CC-NSI parameters $ε_{eα}$ and $ε_{eα}^{s}$ are extracted with and without the assumption that the effects of the new physics are the same in the production and detection processes, respectively. The approach based on the weak effective field theory (WEFT-NSI) deals with four types of CC-NSI represented by the parameters $[\varepsilon_{X}]_{eα}$. For both approaches, the results for the CC-NSI parameters are shown for cases with various fixed values of the CC-NSI and the Dirac CP-violating phases, and when they are allowed to vary freely. We find that constraints on the QM-NSI parameters $ε_{eα}$ and $ε_{eα}^{s}$ from the Daya Bay experiment alone can reach the order $\mathcal{O}(0.01)$ for the former and $\mathcal{O}(0.1)$ for the latter, while for WEFT-NSI parameters $[\varepsilon_{X}]_{eα}$, we obtain $\mathcal{O}(0.1)$ for both cases.

We study the properties of $Z^\prime$ boson with the process of $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow q \bar{q}$, $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow l^+ l^-$, $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow Z H$ and $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow W^+ W^-$. The discrepancy of $Z^\prime$ coupling to different types of particles can be shown in the cross section distributions around the resonance peak of various decay modes. Angular distributions of the final quark or lepton in $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow q \bar{q}/l^+ l^- $ process are sensitive to the parameters such as mass of $Z^\prime$ and the $Z-Z^\prime$ mixing angle. The interaction of new gauge boson coupling to the standard model gauge particles and Higgs boson are also studied through $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow Z H \rightarrow l^+l^- b \bar{b}$ and $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow W^+W^- \rightarrow l^+l^- ν_l \barν_l$. The cross section and the final particles' angular distributions with the contribution of $Z^\prime$ boson differ from those processes with only standard model particles. A forward-backward asymmetry defined by the angular distribution is provided to show the potential of searching for new physics at the muon collider. Especially, the beam polarization with certain value can effectively enlarge the forward-backward asymmetry.

We present an operator based factorization formula for the transverse energy-energy correlator in the back-to-back (dijet) region, and uncover its remarkable perturbative simplicity and relation to transverse momentum dynamics. This simplicity enables us to achieve next-to-next-to-next-to leading logarithmic (N$^3$LL) accuracy for a hadron collider dijet event shape for the first time. Our factorization formula applies to color singlet, $W/Z/γ$ + jet, and dijet production, providing a natural generalization of transverse momentum observables to one- and two-jet final states. This provides a laboratory for precision studies of QCD and transverse momentum dynamics at hadron colliders, as well as an opportunity for understanding factorization and its violation in a perturbatively well controlled setting.

We present the limits on photon to axionlike particle (ALP) coupling from the 10-year period observations of the TeV BL Lacertae blazar 1ES 1215+303 (with redshift $z=0.130$). The contemporaneous gamma-ray spectra are measured by the collaborations Fermi-LAT and VERITAS with five flux phases from 2008 to 2017, including four low states and one flare. Using these flux phases, we show the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) under the null/ALP hypotheses and set the combined limit on ALP. The 95% $\rm C.L.$ combined limit set by 1ES 1215+303 with the 10-year gamma-ray data is roughly at the photon-ALP coupling constant $g_{aγ} \gtrsim 1.5\times 10^{-11} \rm \, GeV^{-1}$ for the ALP mass $5.0\times10^{-10} \, {\rm eV} \lesssim m_a \lesssim 1.0\times10^{-7} \, {\rm eV}$.

The neutrinophilic two Higgs doublet model is one of the simplest models to explain the origin of tiny Dirac neutrino masses. This model introduces a new Higgs doublet with eV scale VEV to naturally generate the tiny neutrino masses. Depending on the same Yukawa coupling, the neutrino oscillation patterns can be probed with the dilepton signature from the decay of charged scalar $H^\pm$. For example, the normal hierarchy predicts BR$(H^+\to e^+ν)\ll$ BR$(H^+\to μ^+ν)\approx$ BR$(H^+\to τ^+ν)\simeq0.5$ when the lightest neutrino mass is below 0.01 eV, while the inverted hierarchy predicts BR$(H^+\to e^+ν)/2\simeq$ BR$(H^+\to μ^+ν)\simeq$ BR$(H^+\to τ^+ν)\simeq0.25$. By precise measurement of BR$(H^+\to \ell^+ν)$, we are hopefully to probe the lightest neutrino mass and the atmospheric mixing angle $θ_{23}$. Through the detailed simulation of the dilepton signature and corresponding backgrounds, we find that the 3 TeV CLIC could discover $M_{H^+}\lesssim1220$ GeV for NH and $M_{H^+}\lesssim1280$ GeV for IH. Meanwhile, the future 100 TeV FCC-hh collider could probe $M_{H^+}\lesssim1810$ GeV for NH and $M_{H^+}\lesssim2060$ GeV for IH.

Gravitational wave (GW) standard siren observations provide a rather useful tool to explore the evolution of the Universe. In this work, we wish to investigate whether dark sirens with neutron star (NS) deformation from third-generation GW detectors could help probe the interaction between dark energy and dark matter. We simulate the GW dark sirens of four detection strategies based on 3 yr observation and consider four phenomenological interacting dark energy (IDE) models to perform cosmological analysis. We find that GW dark sirens could provide tight constraints on $Ω_{\rm m}$ and $H_0$ in the four IDE models, but do not perform well in constraining the dimensionless coupling parameter $β$ in models of the interaction proportional to the energy density of cold dark matter. Nevertheless, the parameter degeneracy orientations of cosmic microwave background (CMB) and GW are almost orthogonal, and thus, the combination of them could effectively break cosmological parameter degeneracies, with the constraint errors of $β$ being $0.00068-0.018$. In addition, we choose three typical equations of state (EoSs) of an NS, i.e., SLy, MPA1, and MS1, to investigate the effect of an NS's EoS in cosmological analysis. The stiffer EoS could give tighter constraints than the softer EoS. Nonetheless, the combination of CMB and GW dark sirens (using different EoSs of an NS) shows basically the same constraint results of cosmological parameters. We conclude that the dark sirens from 3G GW detectors would play a crucial role in helping probe the interaction between dark energy and dark matter, and the CMB+GW results are basically not affected by the EoS of an NS.

This study presents a general outline of the Qitai radio telescope (QTT) project. Qitai, the site of the telescope, is a county of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, located in the east Tianshan Mountains at an elevation of about 1800 m. The QTT is a fully steerable, Gregorian type telescope with a standard parabolic main reflector of 110 m diameter. The QTT has adopted an um-brella support, homology-symmetric lightweight design. The main reflector is active so that the deformation caused by gravity can be corrected. The structural design aims to ultimately allow high-sensitivity observations from 150 MHz up to 115 GHz. To satisfy the requirements for early scientific goals, the QTT will be equipped with ultra-wideband receivers and large field-of-view mul-ti-beam receivers. A multi-function signal-processing system based on RFSoC and GPU processor chips will be developed. These will enable the QTT to operate in pulsar, spectral line, continuum and Very Long Baseline Interferometer (VLBI) observing modes. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and radio frequency interference (RFI) control techniques are adopted throughout the system design. The QTT will form a world-class observational platform for the detection of low-frequency (nanoHertz) gravitational waves through pulsar timing array (PTA) techniques, pulsar surveys, the discovery of binary black-hole systems, and exploring dark matter and the origin of life in the universe.

The High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S) Collaboration reported the discovery of a novel radiation component from the Vela pulsar by their Cherenkov telescopes. It is of great importance that gamma rays with energies of at least 20~TeV are recorded unexpectedly. The H.E.S.S Collaboration argued that such results may challenge the state-of-the-art models for the high-energy emission of pulsars. We point out in this work that these results also provide a unique opportunity to constrain certain Lorentz invariance violation parameters, leading to the realization of studying Lorentz invariance violation by using gamma-ray pulsars. The Lorentz invariance violation scale is constrained at the level of $E_{\mathrm{LV,}1}> 1.66\times 10^{17} \rm GeV$ for the linear scenario, and $E_{\mathrm{LV,}2}>3.53\times 10^{10} \rm GeV$ for the quadratic scenario. We anticipate that digging into the detailed features of the data of the Vela pulsar and analyzing potentially more very-high-energy photon data from pulsars in the future would improve the constraints on Lorentz invariance violation.

The first level crossing occurs much earlier than the QCD phase transition, while the second level crossing occurs exactly during the QCD phase transition if it exists. We also find that the single level crossing can transform into the double level crossings, depending on the ALP mass $m_A$ versus the zero-temperature $Z_{\mathcal N}$ axion mass $m_{a,0}$. Compared with the no level crossing case, the $Z_{\mathcal N}$ axion relic density can be suppressed in the single level crossing, and enhanced or suppressed in the double level crossings.

The effective field theory approach parameterizes the low energy behaviors of all possible ultraviolet (UV) theories in a systematic way. One of the most important tasks is thus to find the connection between the effective operators and their UV origins. The redundancy relations among operators make the connection very subtle, hence we proposed the j-basis prescription to illuminate the correspondence between operators and their UV resonances in the bottom-up way. In this work, we work out the dimension-8 j-basis operators in the standard model effective field theory (SMEFT), and find all the 146 (82) tree-level UV resonances along with their couplings up to mass dimension 5 (4). Furthermore, we point out a few subtleties on operator generation via field redefinition and on the UV Lagrangian for generic spin resonances. We also provide a data base storing our results and a \texttt{Mathematica} notebook for extracting those results for the reader's conveinence.

We determine the masses of the sequential fourth generation quarks $b'$ and $t'$ in the extension of the Standard Model by solving the dispersion relations associated with the mixing between the neutral states $Q\bar q$ and $\bar Qq$, $Q$ ($q$) being a heavy (light) quark. The box diagrams responsible for the mixing, which provide the perturbative inputs to the dispersion relations, involve multiple intermediate channels, i.e., the $ut$ and $ct$ channels, $u$ ($c$, $t$) being an up (charm, top) quark, in the $b'$ case, and the $db'$, $sb'$ and $bb'$ ones, $d$ ($s$, $b$) being a down (strange, bottom) quark, in the $t'$ case. The common solutions for the above channels lead to the masses $m_{b'}=(2.7\pm 0.1)$ TeV and $m_{t'}\approx 200$ TeV unambiguously. We show that these superheavy quarks, forming bound states in a Yukawa potential, barely contribute to Higgs boson production via gluon fusion and decay to photon pairs, and bypass current experimental constraints. The mass of the $\bar b'b'$ ground state is estimated to be about 3.2 TeV. It is thus worthwhile to continue the search for $b'$ quarks or $\bar b'b'$ resonances at the (high-luminosity) large hadron collider.

Recently a dark matter-electron (DM-electron) paradigm has drawn much attention. Models beyond the standard halo model describing DM accelerated by high energy celestial bodies are under intense examination as well. In this Letter, a velocity components analysis (VCA) method dedicated to swift analysis of accelerated DM-electron interactions via semiconductor detectors is proposed and the first HPGe detector-based accelerated DM-electron analysis is realized. Utilizing the method, the first germanium based constraint on sub-GeV solar reflected DM-electron interaction is presented with the 205.4 kg$\cdot$day dataset from the CDEX-10 experiment. In the heavy mediator scenario, our result excels in the mass range of 5$-$15 keV/$c^2$, achieving a 3 orders of magnitude improvement comparing with previous semiconductor experiments. In the light mediator scenario, the strongest laboratory constraint for DM lighter than 0.1 MeV/$c^2$ is presented. The result proves the feasibility and demonstrates the vast potential of the VCA technique in future accelerated DM-electron analyses with semiconductor detectors.

The core-collapse supernova (CCSN) is considered one of the most energetic astrophysical events in the universe. The early and prompt detection of neutrinos before (pre-SN) and during the supernova (SN) burst presents a unique opportunity for multi-messenger observations of CCSN events. In this study, we describe the monitoring concept and present the sensitivity of the system to pre-SN and SN neutrinos at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), a 20 kton liquid scintillator detector currently under construction in South China. The real-time monitoring system is designed to ensure both prompt alert speed and comprehensive coverage of progenitor stars. It incorporates prompt monitors on the electronic board as well as online monitors at the data acquisition stage. Assuming a false alert rate of 1 per year, this monitoring system exhibits sensitivity to pre-SN neutrinos up to a distance of approximately 1.6 (0.9) kiloparsecs and SN neutrinos up to about 370 (360) kiloparsecs for a progenitor mass of 30 solar masses, considering both normal and inverted mass ordering scenarios. The pointing ability of the CCSN is evaluated by analyzing the accumulated event anisotropy of inverse beta decay interactions from pre-SN or SN neutrinos. This, along with the early alert, can play a crucial role in facilitating follow-up multi-messenger observations of the next galactic or nearby extragalactic CCSN.

We present the first analytic results of N$^3$LO QCD corrections to the top-quark decay width. We focus on the dominant leading color contribution, which includes light-quark loops. At NNLO, this dominant contribution accounts for 95% of the total correction. By utilizing the optical theorem, the N$^3$LO corrections are related to the imaginary parts of the four-loop self-energy Feynman diagrams, which are calculated with differential equations. The results are expressed in terms of harmonic polylogarithms, enabling fast and accurate evaluation. The third-order QCD corrections decrease the LO decay width by 0.667%, and the scale uncertainty is reduced by half compared to the NNLO result. The most precise prediction for the top-quark width is now 1.321 GeV for $m_t=172.69$ GeV. Additionally, we obtain the third-order QCD corrections to the dilepton invariant mass spectrum and decay width in the semileptonic $b\to u$ transition.

In this paper, we study the feeble sterile neutrino portal dark matter under the $Z_3$ symmetry. The dark sector consists of one fermion singlet $χ$ and one scalar singlet $χ$, which transforms as $χ\to e^{i2π/3}χ, φ\to e^{i2π/3}φ$ under the $Z_3$ symmetry. Regarding fermion singlet $χ$ as the dark matter candidate, the new interaction terms $y_χφ\bar{χ^c}χ$ and $μφ^3/2$ could induce various new production channels. For instance, when $m_φ>2m_χ$, the pair decay $φ\toχχ$ could be the dominant channel, rather than the delayed decay $φ\toχν$. Another appealing scenario is when the dark sector is initially produced through the scattering process as $NN\toχχ, NN\toφφ,hν\toχφ$, then the semi-production processes $N χ\toφφ, Nφ\toφχ, Nχ\toχχ$ could lead to the exponential growth of dark sector abundances. The phenomenology of sterile neutrino and the cosmological impact of the dark scalar are also considered in the $Z_3$ symmetric model.

We study the Belle reaction $Ξ_c^+ \to Ξ^- π^+ π^+$ looking at the mass distribution of $π^+ Ξ$, where clear signals for the $Ξ(1620)$ and $Ξ(1690)$ resonances are seen. These two resonances are generated dynamically from the interaction in coupled channels of $πΞ, \bar K Λ, \bar K Σ$ and $ηΞ$ within the chiral unitary approach. Yet, the weak decay process at the quark level, together with the hadronization to produce pairs of mesons, does not produce the $ππΞ$ final state. In order to produce this state one must make transitions from the $\bar K Λ, \bar K Σ$ and $ηΞ$ components to $πΞ$, and this interaction is what produces the resonances. So, the reaction offers a good test for the molecular picture of these resonances. Adding the contribution of the $Ξ^*(1530)$ and some background we are able to get a good reproduction of the mass distribution showing the signatures of the two resonances as found in the experiment.
