Sherri Lightner
Sherri Lightner is a former member of the San Diego City Council in California, representing District 1. She was first elected in 2008, and served until 2016.
On December 10, 2014, the San Diego City Council appointed Lightner to serve as council president in a 7-2 vote, replacing council member Todd Gloria, who had held the position since 2013.[1] Before becoming Council President, Lightner had served as the Council President Pro Tempore under Gloria since 2013.[2]
Biography
Lightner obtained a B.A. in mathematics and sociology and an M.S. in applied mechanics and engineering sciences from the University of California, San Diego.[2]
