MetaCyc EC 2.8.3.14 -- 5-hydroxypentanoate CoA-transferase

Parent Class: EC-Numbers2 -- Transferases2.8 -- Transferring sulfur-containing groups2.8.3 -- CoA-transferases

Synonyms: 5-hydroxyvalerate CoA-transferase, 5-hydroxyvalerate coenzyme A transferase

Systematic Name: acetyl-CoA:5-hydroxypentanoate CoA-transferase

Unification Links: BRENDA:2.8.3.14, ENZYME:2.8.3.14, IUBMB-ExplorEnz:2.8.3.14

Reaction:
acetyl-CoA + 5-hydroxypentanoate → acetate + 5-hydroxypentanoyl-CoA
