I don't think "web" is a such a big misnomer -- web services run *over* the *internet*, but *form part* of the *WWW* (esp. in the sense of the second bullet). They use URLs and HTTP (2 out of the 3 specs on https://www.w3.org/Help/#webinternet), so I think they get a pass for (typically) not using HTML or a web browser (in the sense of the first bullet). I don't think it's worth a paragraph in the intro. undo
