Taitō (台東たいとう区く, Taitō-ku) is one of the 23 special wards of Tokyo, Japan. The population was 190,873 in 2015.[1]

On 15 March 1947, the ward of Taitō was formed by combining the wards of Asakusa and Shitaya.[2]
