History
[change | change source]On 15 March 1947, the ward of Shinjuku was formed by combining the wards of Ushigome, Yodobashi, and Yotsuya.[2]
In 1991, the Tokyo Government moved from the Marunouchi district of Chiyoda to the current building in Shinjuku.
Geography
[change | change source]Surrounding Shinjuku are six other wards: Chiyoda to the east; Bunkyo and Toshima to the north; Nakano to the west, and Shibuya and Minato to the south.
