Published on: 14th May 2024

The collaboration between Mediawan and Zag will result in the expansion of the Miraculous brand and the creation of new narratives and iconic characters.

Production powerhouse Mediawan and Zag have revealed the inception of Miraculous Corp. This joint venture between the two companies reunites all facets of the Miraculous franchise, under the ownership of the two partners – approximately 60% for Mediawan, 40% for Zag. Jeremy Zag will continue his involvement as a major shareholder and board member, while overseeing the development and creation of existing and new characters within the franchise.

The company says the move hails an unprecedented expansion, ushering in a new era of iconic characters and captivating narratives. Ladybug’s adventures will soon unfold new content around the world: TV movies, and spin-off series with brand new characters such as Rainbow Light, Tiger Force, Captain Justice, Time Master, Jungle Queen, Lady Dragon and the highly anticipated Miraculous, The Movie 2.

Bolstered by a dedicated team, Miraculous Corp is embarking on a mission to elevate the brand’s global footprint, overseeing both creative endeavours and commercial ventures to magnify its influence on a worldwide scale.

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir has captivated audiences across 150 territories since its debut in 2015. With five TV seasons, three TV movies and ongoing production for seasons 6 and 7, the franchise continues to enthrall fans worldwide.

Amassing an impressive haul of 30 awards, including the prestigious Kidscreen Award for Best Animated Series, Miraculous has transcended boundaries, captivating audiences both on screen and in theaters.

The establishment of Miraculous Corp underscores Mediawan’s commitment to fostering the global evolution of its IPs, heralding a new chapter in the Miraculous saga.

“After all these years dedicated to passionately developing the Miraculous universe alongside Thomas Astruc, Nathanaël Bronn and Sébastien Thibaudeau, this new chapter of our journey with Mediawan will allow us to fulfill our wildest dreams, matching the ambition we have for Miraculous,” said Jeremy Zag, founder and president of Zag. “My partnership with Pierre-Antoine Capton is fundamental, we share a vision for this unprecedented expansion of a French franchise, and together, we embark on this extraordinary adventure every day.”

Pierre-Antoine Capton, founder and president of Mediawan, commented: “Miraculous is the result of the encounter between two visionary producers, Jeremy Zag and Aton Soumache, and a highly talented creative team that managed to bring to life and support the development of an unmatched work of French animation. Today, Miraculous stands as an emblematic brand of Mediawan, and the introduction of Miraculous Corp, along with the formation of a dedicated team for its development, will allow us to explore new creative territories and further enhance its global presence.”
