The University has developed a magnificent park for people of all ages to enjoy nature’s bounteous beauty. The river Swarna can be seen winding away to the setting sun. The spectacular view of the Agumbe Rain Forests and the Kudremukh Peak can be seen towards the West. Not too far off are beautiful beaches like Kaup and Malpe. And if that’s not enough, Gorkana and Goa are just a few hours from Manipal and make for amazing weekend getaways. Outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers can have their pick of places to visit like Kudlu Falls, Jog Falls, Agumbe, Kudremukh etc. Manipal and nearby regions have many temples. The most popular among these temples are the Udupi Krishna Temple, Murdeshwar Temple, the Thousand Pillar Temple at Moodabidri and our very own Venugopal Temple on the MIT campus. The city of Mangalore is just an hour and a half away and makes a good day trip to catch the latest movies playing and may be do a little shopping.
