Systems Engineering

The Aerospace Corporation has been contributing to the success of space systems for more than 50 years. Utilizing our end-to-end systems engineering expertise, we focus on the government’s needs to develop the best space-related capabilities within cost and schedule constraints. We support our customers in maintaining technically current standards and processes, ensuring consistent, credible acquisition risk strategies, implementing effective program execution and independent assessments, and assuring mission operations and user collaboration.

The challenge as we move into the future will be to address emerging threats and the need to design and deploy more resilient systems, all while working to reduce program costs. In the near term will be increased emphasis on systems engineering earlier in the acquisition process, allowing more effective allocation of resources and permitting early identification of potential problems. Any necessary corrective action can then be taken much sooner, when the cost to resolve issues is significantly lower.

To this end, a new guide has been released to assist the government with a range of acquisition programs by providing a checklist of key questions to consider in the acquisition process. Key Questions for Acquisition Success is intended as an aid to program managers, chief engineers and contract specialists responsible for formulating or managing a Federal Acquisition Program to help execute the program successfully.
