The X Factor: Is Lauren Platt too sick to perform this week?
By Catriona Wightman
The X Factor's Lauren Platt is suffering from a bad cold this week - putting her ability to perform tomorrow night in jeopardy.
The 17-year-old has made it to the final five, but reports have now revealed that she is struggling with her voice at a crucial point in the competition.
The news is yet another blow for Platt, who suffered from a throat infection three weeks ago which was so bad that Simon Cowell refused to see her out of fears that he would get ill too.
She tweeted about her anxieties this morning, writing: "I would love to say I felt better guys but it's not looking good, I hope I don't disappoint you all."
To make matters worse, each contestant has to sing twice this week. The X Factor has already confirmed that the song chosen by the public for Platt is 'Don't You Worry Child'.
However, an X Factor source told Digital Spy that they believe Platt will be singing at the weekend, saying: "Lauren has been feeling unwell this week but is expected to perform tomorrow night."
The X Factor continues tomorrow (November 29) at 8pm on ITV.
