Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, GBS, JP

Timothy Fok is the champion of sports in Hong Kong. Representing athletes and sports associations in Legco (the Hong Kong legistlative council), he is their leading voice and advocate, and the most important player when it comes to legislation, funding and putting Hong Kong on the Olympic map. He is a member of the International Olympic Committee, president of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, and was vice-president of the organising committee of the 2008 Olympics and Paralympics Equestrian Events, which he is credited with bringing to Hong Kong. Fok is also vice-president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), a member of the 2008 Olympics Coordination Commission, president of the Hong Kong Sports Writers’ Association, vice-president of the Hong Kong East Asian Games Organising Committee, and president of the Hong Kong Football Association. He received the Gold Bauhinia Star Medal in 2004.
