Faye Lockhart
Faye Lockhart, 79, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024. She went to be with the good Lord above.
She was a proud graduate of the Kirkman High School, Class of 1962. Faye worked and retired after 45 years as a handicap bus driver for the Hamilton County Department of Education. This is something she absolutely loved doing and always used the term “my kids” when she spoke about her students.
Faye was a devoted wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was everything to her, she unconditionally loved her family and loved nothing more than spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Katherine Morrison, her sisters: Dot Case, Dean Crowley, & Barbara Clayton.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Amos Lockhart of Chattanooga; daughter, Angelia Summers (Michael) of Birchwood; son, DeWayne Lockhart (Kristy) of Soddy Daisy; her grandsons, Seth and Jacob Lockhart; granddaughters, Kayla Franks, Bri Travis, and Beth Montgomery; six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
During her last months Faye had bonded and fell in love with her new friends (care givers) at Gentle Hands a Personal Care Home and Hospice of Hearth. She felt their love and unlimited compassionate care.
The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. on Monday, July 1, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. There will be a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 6 p.m. on Monday.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
