Super Bowl odds line movement
See how the odds of winning the Super Bowl have shifted over time in this interactive chart:
2025 Super Bowl favorites
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs moved to 8-0 after outlasting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in overtime on Monday Night Football.
Patrick Mahomes led the way with 33 completions for 291 yards and two touchdowns, while DeAndre Hopkins found the endzone for the first time (2 TDs) as a member of the Chiefs.
One quick glance at their schedule and you'll notice that a path to 17-0 is taking shape.
Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions are for real.
After beating a really good Vikings team in Week 7 and thrashing the Titans last week, Detroit went into a rainy Lambeau Field and left with a 24-14 victory over a Packers team that had won four in a row.
Now 7-1 with wins in six in a row, the Lions have placed themselves on the shortlist of Super Bowl contenders.
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens followed up a much-needed win over the Denver Broncos in Week 9 with a thrilling one-point victory over their division rivals, Cincinnati on Thursday Night Football.
Lamar Jackson led the way throwing for 290 yards and four scores, while adding 33 rushing yards.
The defense was once again under immense pressure throughout, but came up with a huge (questionable) stop on a two-point conversion attempt late in the game to seal the victory.
Next up for the Ravens is a road game vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.
San Francisco 49ers
After falling to the Chiefs in Week 7, the San Francisco 49ers entered Week 8 Sunday Night Football in desperate need of a bounce-back performance.
After a sluggish first half vs. the Cowboys, the offense got their act together and finished with 30 points in a 6-point win. Brock Purdy was good, throwing for 260 yards and one touchdown, while George Kittle led the way with 128 yards and a score.
With news of Christian McCaffrey close to returning, things may just be okay in Santa Clara.
Super Bowl betting splits and line movement
- The Lions have attracted the highest ticket percentage at BetMGM to start the season at 13.3%. Rounding out the Top 3 are the defending champion Chiefs (13%) and the reigning AFC North champion Ravens (7.2%).
- The Chiefs, meanwhile, have attracted the highest handle percentage at BetMGM at 17.7%. They are trailed closely by the Lions (15.9%) and the 49ers (9.4%).
- The Chiefs have experienced the most pronounced Super Bowl line movement at BetMGM, going from +750 when lines were first announced to +500 in the lead-up to Week 1.
Super Bowl 2025 odds best bet
Given the way the odds are shaped early in the season, it's hard for me to overlook the San Francisco 49ers at +550 over at FanDuel Sportsbook.
We know what the 49ers can do with a fully healthy squad, which is important, but what they did against the Jets on Monday Night Football cannot be overlooked.
Yes, you can say "It was the Jets and a 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers", but not only did the defense show up in a big way, the offense didn't skip a beat.
Jordan Mason filled in nicely for CMC, running with authority and finding the gaps, while the likes of Purdy, Deebo Samuel, Jauan Jennings, and George Kittle all contributed to the cause.
It helped that Jake Moody nailed six field goals, but the overall product from the Niners is hard to overlook.
Over a full 18 games, with an excellent defense, an offense that can attack you in a multitude of ways, and great coaching, my money is on the Niners.
