A simple yet genius coat hanger trick used by Stacey Solomon can make your bed look hotel pristine, an expert has revealed.

Crawling into a well-made sanctuary is a simple luxury, especially if your bedding is fresh and immaculate. When you enter a hotel room, you may wonder how they get the beds to look so perfect and there's an easy way to achieve this this at home.

Stacey took to Instagram to let her 5.7 million followers in on the unconventional bed-making hack. All you need is a simple coat hanger and a few minutes of time, to make sure your bed sheets are properly tucked away with no bumps, reports the Mirror.

Posting a clip called ‘Make he bed with me’ last year, the Sort Your Life Out host told fans: “There’s just something so satisfying about fresh sheets. It’s sheet day on Sunday but did nothing yesterday but play in the garden so starting the week in fresh sheets instead.”

Stacey says she has been using the hanger trick 'for years'

The 34-year-old then filmed herself standing on the bed she shares with TV presenter husband Joe Swash as she put the fitted sheet and duvet on. She filmed herself using an old wooden coat hanger to pull the duvet cover tightly as she tucked it snugly under the mattress to achieve a perfect finish.

Ashley Hainsworth of Bed Kingdom also backs the tip and has revealed the industry secrets that can make a bed look extra indulgent. “If you’ve ever looked at a hotel bed or a home Instagram account in awe at how neat their bed spread is, you’re not alone," she said.

"But actually it’s easier than you think to get this look, all you need is a wooden coat hanger and up to five minutes.”

Ashley explained how a coat hanger is a more effective tool to tuck sheets under the mattress and it pulls them tight to remove creases. It’s much more effective than getting fingers wedged under the mattress and is even loved by ‘Tap to Tidy’ queen, Stacey Solomon, who started doing it to protect her nails when doing chores.

“The wooden coat hanger is sturdy enough to have some pressure put behind it and can fit into tighter spaces better than your hand can,” Ashley said.

“It can also reach further, meaning your sheets are pushed further under the mattress, creating a sharp, uncrumpled appearance. So there’s no need to spend hours trying to iron the bedding.

"Use the coat hanger to push the duvet under the mattress or into the bed frame if your type of frame allows.”

Ashley insists there are some other tricks that can help recreate a hotel bed at home. He said: “Layering a mixture of textures can create a sophisticated look. This can be as simple as adding a throw to the end of your bed or adding a couple of scatter cushions.

"Plumping your pillows and fluffing out your duvet by giving it a shake can give your bed a plush look which hotels often have.

“Investing in a good-quality mattress will help, and of course, this is important to support you while you sleep and keep you comfortable. Adding a thick mattress protector can help with this if your mattress is in need of an overhaul. And adding a sheet between your duvet cover and fitted mattress cover can improve comfort.”
