A point will see Celtic confirmed as Scottish Premiership champions for the third year in a row, then thoughts can turn to the Champions League draw.
Maybe not immediately, with a Scottish Cup Final showdown against Rangers to come. Win that, and there's a Double in the cabinet to go with the automatic Champions League group stage spot. It's all change on that front however, with UEFA revamping (let's hang fire on "improving") the format of three of their club competitions. Gone are the eight groups of four with two progressing to the knockouts. In is one big league of 36.
Each club will play eight different opponents – two from each of the four pots. 1-8 in the league table progress to the last 16. 9-24 will play two-legged playoffs to ear a spot in the last 16, while 25-36 are out, with no Europa League safety net to soften the blow.
In the new format, which pot your are drawn in isn't really as significant as it was previously, as you play two teams from your own section anyway. Celtic are on the verge of pots 3 and 4 and are likely to drop into the latter once some of the bigger guns are confirmed as qualifying, but it won't make a huge difference to their fortunes. Twenty out of 36 participants are confirmed, with the projected pots based on the most likely to be in the draw based on current standings.
