On Friday, the set of "The View" turned into a roasting pit, with Bill Belichick's love life sizzling on the spit. Joy Behar led the charge, firing zingers at the legendary Patriots coach for dating 23-year-old Jordon Hudson, a romance that spans a whopping 49-year age gap.
Behar didn't hold back as she sized up the couple's May-December relationship. "This girl is hearing wedding bells," Behar quipped, eyes twinkling with mischief. "The question is -- can HE hear them?" It was a classic Joy jab, aimed right at the heart of Belichick's advancing years.
Sunny Hostin tried to play the diplomat, suggesting that the uproar would be less if the genders were reversed. But Behar, 81, swatted that notion away faster than a fly at a picnic, comparing it to her dating the much-younger Timothée Chalamet. "That flat-out never happens," she declared, with a grin as sharp as a tack.
Belichick's love life under fire
Sara Haines, ever the optimist, jumped in to highlight the benefits Hudson might be enjoying from dating someone of Belichick's stature. But Behar was having none of it, especially when it came to matters of the bedroom. "Not in the bedroom, he's not ... there's only so much Viagra in the world, okay?" she retorted, her sarcasm dripping like honey from a comb.
The final blow, though, was when Behar's said: "The guy is 48 [years older,] by the time she's 48, he'll be in an urn on a mantel." Ouch. If Belichick and Hudson were watching, they might have felt the burn from that one all the way up in Foxborough.
Yet, amid the laughter and the jabs, a thread of consensus emerged: if Belichick and Hudson are happy, then who are we to judge?
