The small variety of Blarggs,[1][2] initially referred to as Red Blarggs,[3] are smaller versions of Gargantua Blargg that debuted as enemies in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
History[edit]
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[edit]
Red Blarggs and their variants first appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. They resemble blobby creatures with large mouths, and have frowning black eyes without visible sclerae. Red Blarggs behave almost the same way as the original Blargg in Super Mario World, dwelling in lava and attempting to leap towards outsiders. Yoshis can defeat them with eggs, but they reappear after a few seconds; however, an Anywhere POW can defeat them permanently. There are two giant versions: Gargantua Blargg, which rises out of the lava and tries to block the path, and Nep-Enut, which act the same but are blue and live in water.
Yoshi's Island DS[edit]
In Yoshi's Island DS, small Blarggs reappear with the same appearance and behavior, as well as Gargantua Blarggs and Nep-Enuts. The latter have a smaller counterpart called Egg-enuts, which have a similar size to small Blarggs but employ a different tactic; they hide with a fake Yoshi's Egg as a lure. In addition, there is a new type of Gargantua Blargg, which are even larger and can destroy dense rocks.
Yoshi's New Island[edit]
In Yoshi's New Island, small Blarggs, along with Gargantua Blarggs and Nep-Enuts, appear once again.
