Accessibility

Parking
Accessible parking spaces are located on the north end of the CoRec along the university track as well as to the west of the CoRec along the outdoor basketball courts.
Facility Access

There are several access points into the CoRec, Aquatic Center, and TREC facilities.

CoRec

  • We have two entrances:
    • East Entry - Located on Martin Jischke Drive, with an accessible ramp leading to our entry control desk.  A passenger elevator which provides access to all floors in the CoRec is located next to the member services desk.
    • West Entry - Located on the circle drive has an accessible elevator located to the right of the stairway.  The elevator will take participants to the second level of the building or to the aquatics mezzanine.

Aqua and TREC

  • Both facility entrances are located on the circle drive to the west of the CoRec.  Both facilities are accessible at grade.
Aquatics
The Boilermaker Aquatic Center and the Recreational Pool are ADA compliant with hydraulic lifts and/or a portable lift for easy entry to the pools and spaces.  Staff will make every effort to accommodate the needs of the participants.
Climbing Wall/Challenge Course
The Climbing and Challenge Course Programs have the capability to customize activities for groups or individuals with varying disabilities.  For additional information, please contact the Assistant Director of the Climbing Wall and Boiler Challenge Course.
Fitness Equipment

Throughout the France A. Cordova Recreational Sports Center, there are numerous pieces of equipment which are accessible to individuals with a disability.  Equipment is located in the following areas:

  • Colby Fitness (Basement Level): Arm Ergometers, Dumbbells, and Cable Machines
  • Scifres Functional Fitness (Basement Level): Cable Machines
  • Fitness Pavilion (2nd Level)Technogym Line, Cable Machines, and Arm Ergometers
  • Upper Fitness (3rd Level): Technogym Cable Machines
  • Atrium Track Mezzanine (3rd Level): Cable Machines

Group Fitness
Several of our group fitness classes can be modified for individuals with a disability.  For modification questions, please contact our Assistant Director for Fitness Programs (Group X).
Intramural Sports
Intramural Sports is one of the most popular ways to get involved on campus with your fellow Boilermakers.  The Intramural Sports program provides the opportunity for structured individual, dual, and/or team leagues, tournaments, and events in more than 40 sport offerings.  If an individual with a disability would like to participate, accommodation requests or questions concerning a particular sport can be made by contacting the Sr. Assistant Director of Sport Programs.
Personal Training

Our Personal Training program gives the Purdue community the opportunity to work with a certified personal trainer at an affordable price.  We pride ourselves on the professionalism, knowledge, and positive attitude of our personal trainers.  A variety of services are offered to meet your needs including one-on-one training, fitness assessments, JumpStart program, and buddy sessions.
