First returned bird for this season.

Part of a recording made next to a reedbed on the banks of the Olifants River in Balule Game Reserve. A Chacma Baboon gives a single back near the beginning and the Red-faced Cisticola competes loudly with the warbler during the recording. The warbler was singing at a height of 1-2 m from the ground and moving around the reedbed on a regular basis during the whole 20 minute recording.

Bird seen and heard singing while foraging in Acacia Karoo trees beside a dry stream and very high cliff face in the early morning.

Perched. Small reed bed. The date of the recording and according to the phenology of this species could suggest a migrant bird, so the assignment to A. scirpaceus is a possibility to be taken into account.

Singing continuously from within an area of Typha bulrushes at the settling ponds near Magalies Water.
