“What are you talking about? How old do you th—” Rolan stopped and studied Brid’s face, leaning in like he’d never looked at her before. “Wait, how old are you?"
“How old do you think I am, young tiefling?” she asked in response, Rolan glad to hear her serious affect disappearing. He skillfully mumbled a sound that sounded like several different numbers, earning a grateful snort from Brid.
“I’m a youthful 68, thank you very much,” she said with a haughty toss of her chin.
“Oh, I certainly never would have guessed how elderly you are, madam, your impulse control, respect for others, and general attitude give the unquestionable impression of youth,” Rolan replied, giving her a bow from his seat.
“Well, I suppose rudely-delivered admiration is better than none at all,” Brid said. She put on an excellent display of sounding displeased, but there was the now-familiar thrilled glint in her eye that Rolan had barbs.

Isolde Tavellan (Izzie) finds a starving Astarion late at night, 8 years before the nautiloid. Interrupting our beloved vampire who is trying to fight Cazador's request to bring him a pregnant woman. For reasons relating to time travel, fate and prophecy that have yet to be revealed, (spoilers darling;)) Astarion's blood changes the biology of the pregnant woman's unborn baby. The woman 'dies' and Izzie raises the half- vampire baby (dhampir) as her own naming her Lilah. Never forgetting about the spawn who tried to fight the against the will of his vampiric master. Izzie's father is an ex member of the Society of Brilliance named Mordin Tavellan. Izzie has also known Wyll since they were kids. I will try my best to add trigger warnings or content warnings but I am also assuming that if you've played Baldur's Gate that you can handle the same level of gore, violence or eventual smut. The first chapter lays the groundwork for the rest of the fic and then we wake up 8 years later on the nautiloid. (I know the first chapter is Wyll heavy but THIS IS AN ASTARION ROMANCE I PROMISE)This a cozier take on Astarion I think its canon his likes a cuddle once he's used to being loved.Pov changes will be marked at the beginning.

Unamused. Yes. That was exactly how Thorin felt.
He was late, he was hungry, and a mere moment ago it dawned on him that he was lost, too. The Shire was not a place he was thoroughly familiar with. Whenever he travelled through this land, he either had company, or he travelled along the East Road, not taking suspiciously-looking paths or trails, like the one he followed now. Furthermore, he never had a good sense of direction when it came to travelling on the surface. It was an entirely different matter when it came to finding his way underground — he was a Dwarf, after all.But the Shire turned out to be completely different than he expected, just like one of its inhabitants who kindled a growing fire within him.
