He was born in a town very far from the sea, in the year of our Lord 1919 A.D. In a state called Ohio with mountains and trees, Seuss's mom raised her son with delight and with ease. Seuss's dad, sad to say, was not easy to please; he whipped little Seuss if he so much as sneezed.
