ADELAIDE LIGHT RAIL... a new era for the Adelaide Metro

A MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT
The Government of South Australia has a bold vision outlined in its State Strategic Plan. A key objective of that plan is to double the use of public transport by 2018.

This is setting the bar high for the Government of South Australia and to achieve this we must offer a public transport system that is not choice of last resort. Instead, we want a system of first choice that offers comfort, convenience and reliability.

This Government realises to achieve this it must invest in the future. The Adelaide Light Rail project is a
commitment to this goal, and the beginning of a new era for the Adelaide Metro public transport system.

To achieve this quickly we have to refurbish the tram line and for a short nine-week period it will be closed for upgrade and a tram-alternative bus service will offered. Plus there is a host of existing bus services detailed in this brochure.

Please be patient and I'm sure when the new trams are running you'll agree it was worth the wait.
HON PATRICK CONLON MP
MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT

New tram interior, roomier, more comfortable.ADELAIDE METRO LIGHT RAIL... A MORE COMFORTABLE RIDE

The new Bombardier Flexity Classic Trams offer a high degree of customer comfort and smooth ride characteristics.

Offering not only air conditioned comfort but also easy low-floor access and three large double doors for easy boarding and alighting. With this level of comfort and convenience everyone will want to Get Up and Go on the New Adelaide Light Rail.

WHISPER QUIET

Whether you are riding in a new Flexity or watching from the outside, one of the first things you'll notice is that it's so quiet. Adelaide loves its old H type class trams, affectionately called "Rattlers". However, if you use the tram regularly or live near the track, the thought of a quiet and smooth ride will certainly excite you.

The Bombardier Flexity Classic has a proven record of reliability. With track upgrades, the new Adelaide Light Rail will offer a new level of dependability and reliability to ensure you get to your destination on time.
