Beethoven's first tomb was on the Vähringer cemetery in Vienna. After the second exhumation his remains were transferred to the Vienna Central Cemetery. Close to Beethoven's tomb are the honorary tombs of other composers.
Beethoven's body was disinterred twice, examined, measured and moved to another grave. On this occasion, the composer's skull was photographed and drawn.
