Albert Ellis Tribute Book Series Launched

Update: You can read an updated announcement - including a list of books already published, or soon to be published - here (PDF).

"The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny."

Albert Ellis

Writing was one of Albert Ellis' great passions. It is fitting that we honor Al's memory and his enormous contributions through The Albert Ellis Tribute Book Series which is done to help advance his life's work for promoting rational thinking and living.

There has been a tremendous outpouring of support for this undertaking.

Tribute book topics will reflect Al's diverse interests and writings. The series will include books of readings for professionals, psychology self-help, psychotherapy theory and practice, the application of philosophy to clinical practice, professional guides for working with special populations, and classroom and college texts.

Although series books are linked to Al's seminal ideas, the series will include books with innovative ideas, new formulations, and advancements in psychotherapy.

No single publisher can reasonably handle all topics. Thus, tribute books will be published by different publication houses.

This is a serious undertaking. We have multiple publishers who either are in process of publishing tribute series books, or have a high interest in reviewing proposals that fit their publication plans. Our goal is to have a minimum of 12 quality series books. Four are already in process. We'll say more about them later.

If you have a tribute book idea, or book that is in process that you want us to consider for the tribute series, send your idea to AlbertEllisTributeBooks@gmail.com.

For books that we think fit the spirit of the series and our objectives, a sub-committee of editorial board members are prepared to make suggestions on crafting book proposals. We'll make introductions between authors and publishers.

We'll endorse and support tribute series books.

This is an all volunteer effort. We are not agents or publishers. Contracts are worked out between authors and publishers.

Beyond a publisher's normal promotional efforts we plan to support tribute books through web sites, list serves, and in other ways to get the word out to potential readers.

The tribute series is dedicated to Albert Ellis. But it is also dedicated to the development and promotion of great ideas in the field of psychotherapy.

Please lend us your support.  Working together, we can make a difference.
