If not for him (which seemed unlikely since they'd just met), but because this course was more interesting than what he was previously taking, an overall favour that saved Nick from a boring start to his week and awarded Charlie a friendship.

Now, with an entire term, several failed study sessions traded for video games, walks at the park between their flats, tipsy talks in Charlie's bedroom after nights out, an endless thread of texts between them, and a friendship the likes of which he'd never experienced, Charlie couldn't imagine a world where Nick wasn't with him twice a week — typically more, almost daily.”

They meet on their Mormon missions in the late 1990's Northern England. This story explores their lives over several decades as they navigate their faith and queer identities. Jumping between time periods, the story lines are gradually revealed as Nick and Charlie continue to learn about themselves and those around them.
A balance between, fluff, angst and smut. Don't worry, you don't have to know that much about Mormons. Plenty of explanation, obscure facts and links in the notes to help explain anything you don't understand. Or just DM me on Twitter.

Charlie will never get enough of Nick’s warm skin on his or how tactile he is with him, always reaching to take his hand, locking their fingers whenever he’s in reach, pulling him in for a hug whenever he sees him as if they haven’t been living together for the past six months.
Nick dips his head into Charlie’s shoulder and his delicious smell of sandalwood and cinnamon permeates Charlie’s nose and it all becomes so overwhelming. Nick’s smell accompanied by his body pressed up against Charlie finally causes him to break. He physically can’t take the pent up emotions that he’s harboured for their entire friendship. He needs to talk to Nick now.
Or: Nick and Charlie have been best friends since secondary school. Now Charlie has something he needs to get off his chest after a night out with the paris squad.
