About Uskeyboard_double_arrow_upkeyboard_arrow_upshopping_cartinfo

The Artelino company was established in 2001 as a virtual auction house. Our family-owned business is situated in Icking, south of Munich, Germany. We specialize in Japanese art prints and also collaborate directly with top artists from Japan, the USA, and Europe to offer a collection of contemporary prints alongside our traditional offerings.

Online Auctions since 2001

In December 2001, Artelino launched its inaugural online auction featuring Japanese prints. Now, after 22 years, we have successfully facilitated the sale of over 80,000 art objects, predominantly Japanese prints but also encompassing Western and Chinese contemporary prints, across more than 1,800 online auctions.

Our clientele includes art collectors, casual art enthusiasts, resellers, professional art dealers, and artists. Situated in a small village within the picturesque rural landscape of Upper Bavaria, south of Munich, our base serves as the hub for our operations.

How we Operate

Artelino does not maintain its own inventory. Similar to a typical auction house, we serve as intermediaries between sellers and buyers, earning a commission for our services.

We adhere to the conventional model of an auction house. Each art object is sent to us, where we meticulously inspect its authenticity and condition. We then produce professional images and provide detailed descriptions, drawing upon our own critical expertise.

Handling payments and shipments is also part of our responsibilities. We collect payments from successful bidders and buyers, managing transactions through PayPal or Bank Transfer (EU only). Furthermore, we handle the packing and shipping of art objects, ensuring safe delivery, and promptly remunerate consignors for sold items.

The artelino Team

The owners of Artelino are Yorie and Dieter. Yorie, my Japanese-American wife, oversees consignments, item descriptions, auction preparations, and all post-auction tasks such as invoicing and shipping. Dieter, a retired IT professional, manages all commercial and technical aspects of the business. Additionally, we are fortunate to have the support of a fantastic team consisting of four experienced part-time helpers.

Zero Tolerance Policy Ensuring Clean Auctions

Maintaining clean auctions, free from hoax bidders, "no-pays," and other trouble-makers, is paramount for us. Before creating an account, please be aware of the following:

One last note: If you are seeking auctions with "50% off sales" or "no reserve auctions", artelino is not the suitable platform for you.

Security and Privacy are Paramount.

Our security standards undergo quarterly certification reviews for compliance with the PCI (Payment Card Industry) standards of VISA, Mastercard, and Amex. These assessments are conducted by usd AG in Langen, Germany.
