危险(Definitely Endangered) 极度危险(Critically Endangered) 1950 |
無 危:被 群 體内 所有 年齡 層 使用 ,且跨年齡 層 傳播 順 暢 無 阻。脆弱 :被 群 體内 絕大 多數 兒童 使用 ,但 被 限 於特定 場景 或 領域 (如在家 )。危險 :在 群 體内 不 再 被 兒童 作爲 母語 在家 學習 。重大 危險 :多 被 群 體内 祖父母 一 代 使用 ;群 體内 的 父母 一代能夠理解該語言,但 并不會 對 同 年齡 層 或 其兒童 使用 。極度 危險 :僅被群 體内 祖父母 一 代 部分 地 、偶爾地 使用 。滅 絕 :1950年 以來 失 去 了 所有 使用 者 的 語 言 。

即 將 消失 的 語 言 能 夠為語 言 學 家 、認知 科學 家 和 哲學 家 研究 人類 的 思 維提供 大量 的 寶 貴 資料 。 本土 語 言 是 該地區 的 文化 和 自然 資源 的 唯一 載 體 ,是 不可 替 代 的 。語 言 能 夠幫助人 們了解 人類 的 歷史 。語 言 可 以更好 分 辨 出來 自 哪裡。
而另一種觀點認爲語言多樣性是一種浪費,其
更 少 的 語 言 意味 著 人 們能夠更輕 鬆 、更 徹底 地 交流 。更 少 的 語 言 可 以省掉多語 資源 翻譯 流通 的 昂 貴 費用 。更 少 的 語 言 可 以讓人 們沒有 因 雙方 語 言 不通 而地域 歧視的 思想 ,使 得 人 們的字典 里 沒 有 “鳥 語 ”一 詞 說法 。
