1And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.

1Ὡς δでるたὲ ἐκρίθη τたうοおみくろんῦ ἀποπλεῖνにゅー ἡμみゅーᾶς εいぷしろんἰς τたうὴνにゅー Ἰταλίαν παρεδίδουν τόν τたうεいぷしろん Πぱいαあるふぁῦλらむだοおみくろんνにゅー καί τινας ἑτέρους δεσμώτας ἑκατοντάρχῃ ὀνόματι Ἰουλίῳ σπείρης Σεβαστῆς

2And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

2ἐπιβάντες δでるたὲ πλοίῳ Ἀδραμυττηνῷ μέλλοντι πぱいλらむだεいぷしろんῖνにゅー εいぷしろんἰς τたうοおみくろんὺς κかっぱαあるふぁτたうὰ τたうὴνにゅー Ἀσίαν τόπους ἀνήχθημεν ὄντος σしぐまὺνにゅー ἡμみゅーῖνにゅー Ἀριστάρχου Μακεδόνος Θεσσαλονικέως

3And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

3Τたうῇ τたうεいぷしろん ἑτέρᾳ κατήχθημεν εいぷしろんἰς Σしぐまιいおたδでるたῶνにゅーαあるふぁ φιλανθρώπως τたうεいぷしろん ὁ Ἰούλιος τたうῷ Παύλῳ χρησάμενος ἐπέτρεψεν πぱいρろーὸς τたうοおみくろんὺς φίλους πορευθέντι ἐπιμελείας τたうυうぷしろんχかいεいぷしろんῖνにゅー

4And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

4κかっぱἀκかっぱεいぷしろんῖθしーたεいぷしろんνにゅー ἀναχθέντες ὑπεπλεύσαμεν τたうὴνにゅー Κύπρον δでるたιいおたὰ τたうὸ τたうοおみくろんὺς ἀνέμους εいぷしろんἶνにゅーαあるふぁιいおた ἐναντίους

5And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.

5τό τたうεいぷしろん πέλαγος τたうὸ κかっぱαあるふぁτたうὰ τたうὴνにゅー Κιλικίαν κかっぱαあるふぁὶ Παμφυλίαν διαπλεύσαντες κατήλθομεν* εいぷしろんἰς Μύρα* τたうῆς Λυκίας

6And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.

6Κかっぱἀκかっぱεいぷしろんῖ εいぷしろんὑρろーὼνにゅー ὁ ἑκατοντάρχης πぱいλらむだοおみくろんῖοおみくろんνにゅー Ἀλεξανδρῖνにゅーοおみくろんνにゅー πλέον εいぷしろんἰς τたうὴνにゅー Ἰταλίαν ἐνεβίβασεν ἡμみゅーᾶς εいぷしろんἰς αあるふぁὐτό

7And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

7Ἐνにゅー ἱκαναῖς δでるたὲ ἡμέραις βραδυπλοοῦντες κかっぱαあるふぁὶ μόλις γενόμενοι κかっぱαあるふぁτたうὰ τたうὴνにゅー Κνίδον μみゅーὴ προσεῶντος ἡμみゅーᾶς τたうοおみくろんῦ ἀνέμου ὑπεπλεύσαμεν τたうὴνにゅー Κρήτην κかっぱαあるふぁτたうὰ Σαλμώνην

8And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

8μόλις τたうεいぷしろん παραλεγόμενοι αあるふぁὐτたうὴνにゅー ἤλθομεν εいぷしろんἰς τόπον τたうιいおたνにゅーὰ καλούμενον Κかっぱαあるふぁλらむだοおみくろんὺς Λιμένας ᾧ ἐγがんまγがんまὺς ἦνにゅー πόλις Λασαία

9Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

9Ἱκανοῦ δでるたὲ χρόνου διαγενομένου κかっぱαあるふぁὶ ὄντος ἤδでるたηいーた ἐπισφαλοῦς τたうοおみくろんῦ πぱいλらむだοおみくろんὸς δでるたιいおたὰ τたうὸ κかっぱαあるふぁὶ τたうὴνにゅー Νηστείαν ἤδでるたηいーた παρεληλυθέναι πぱいαあるふぁρろーῄνにゅーεいぷしろんιいおた ὁ Πぱいαあるふぁῦλος

10And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

10λέγων αあるふぁὐτたうοおみくろんῖς Ἄνδρες θしーたεいぷしろんωおめがρろーῶ ὅτたうιいおた μみゅーεいぷしろんτたうὰ ὕβρεως κかっぱαあるふぁὶ πぱいοおみくろんλらむだλらむだῆς ζημίας οおみくろんὐ μόνον τたうοおみくろんῦ φορτίου κかっぱαあるふぁὶ τたうοおみくろんῦ πλοίου ἀλらむだλらむだὰ κかっぱαあるふぁὶ τたうῶνにゅー ψぷさいυうぷしろんχかいῶνにゅー ἡμみゅーῶνにゅー μέλλειν ἔσεσθαι τたうὸνにゅー πぱいλらむだοおみくろんῦνにゅー

11Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

11Ὁ δでるたὲ ἑκατοντάρχης τたうῷ κυβερνήτῃ κかっぱαあるふぁὶ τたうῷ ναυκλήρῳ μみゅーᾶλらむだλらむだοおみくろんνにゅー ἐπείθετο ἢ τたうοおみくろんῖς ὑπぱいὸ Παύλου λεγομένοις

12And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.

12ἀνευθέτου δでるたὲ τたうοおみくろんῦ λιμένος ὑπάρχοντος πぱいρろーὸς παραχειμασίαν οおみくろんἱ πλείονες ἔθεντο βべーたοおみくろんυうぷしろんλらむだὴνにゅー ἀναχθῆνにゅーαあるふぁιいおた ἐκかっぱεいぷしろんῖθしーたεいぷしろんνにゅー εいぷしろんἴ πως δύναιντο καταντήσαντες εいぷしろんἰς Φοίνικα παραχειμάσαι λιμένα τたうῆς Κρήτης βλέποντα κかっぱαあるふぁτたうὰ λίβα κかっぱαあるふぁὶ κかっぱαあるふぁτたうὰ χかいῶρろーοおみくろんνにゅー

13And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.

13Ὑποπνεύσαντος δでるたὲ νότου δόξαντες τたうῆς προθέσεως κεκρατηκέναι ἄραντες ἆσしぐまσしぐまοおみくろんνにゅー παρελέγοντο τたうὴνにゅー Κρήτην

14But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

14μみゅーεいぷしろんτたう’ οおみくろんὐ πぱいοおみくろんλらむだὺ δでるたὲ ἔβαλεν κかっぱαあるふぁτたう’ αあるふぁὐτたうῆς ἄνεμος τυφωνικὸς ὁ καλούμενος Εいぷしろんὐρακύλων

15And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

15συναρπασθέντος δでるたὲ τたうοおみくろんῦ πλοίου κかっぱαあるふぁὶ μみゅーὴ δυναμένου ἀντοφθαλμεῖνにゅー τたうῷ ἀνέμῳ ἐπιδόντες ἐφερόμεθα

16And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

16Νησίον δέ τたうιいおた ὑποδραμόντες καλούμενον Κかっぱαあるふぁῦδでるたαあるふぁ ἰσχύσαμεν μόλις περικρατεῖς γενέσθαι τたうῆς σκάφης

17Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.

17ἣνにゅー ἄραντες βοηθείαις ἐχかいρろーῶνにゅーτたうοおみくろん ὑποζωννύντες τたうὸ πぱいλらむだοおみくろんῖοおみくろんνにゅー φοβούμενοί τたうεいぷしろん μみゅーὴ εいぷしろんἰς τたうὴνにゅー Σύρτιν ἐκπέσωσιν χαλάσαντες τたうὸ σしぐまκかっぱεいぷしろんῦος οおみくろんὕτως ἐφέροντο

18And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

18Σφοδρῶς δでるたὲ χειμαζομένων ἡμみゅーῶνにゅー τたうῇ ἑξくしーῆς ἐκβολὴνにゅー ἐποιοῦνにゅーτたうοおみくろん

19And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

19κかっぱαあるふぁὶ τたうῇ τρίτῃ αあるふぁὐτόχειρες τたうὴνにゅー σしぐまκかっぱεいぷしろんυうぷしろんὴνにゅー τたうοおみくろんῦ πλοίου ἔρριψαν*

20And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

20μήτε δでるたὲ ἡλίου μήτε ἄστρων ἐπιφαινόντων ἐπぱいὶ πλείονας ἡμέρας χかいεいぷしろんιいおたμみゅーῶνός τたうεいぷしろん οおみくろんὐκかっぱ ὀλίγου ἐπικειμένου λらむだοおみくろんιいおたπぱいὸνにゅー πぱいεいぷしろんρろーιいおたῃρろーεいぷしろんῖτたうοおみくろん ἐλらむだπぱいὶς πぱいᾶσしぐまαあるふぁ τたうοおみくろんῦ σしぐまῴζεσθαι ἡμみゅーᾶς

21But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

21Πぱいοおみくろんλらむだλらむだῆς τたうεいぷしろん ἀσιτίας ὑπαρχούσης τότε σταθεὶς ὁ Πぱいαあるふぁῦλος ἐνにゅー μέσῳ αあるふぁὐτたうῶνにゅー εいぷしろんἶπぱいεいぷしろんνにゅー Ἔδでるたεいぷしろんιいおた μέν ὦ ἄνδρες πειθαρχήσαντάς μみゅーοおみくろんιいおた μみゅーὴ ἀνάγεσθαι ἀπぱいὸ τたうῆς Κρήτης κかっぱεいぷしろんρろーδでるたῆσαί τたうεいぷしろん τたうὴνにゅー ὕβριν ταύτην κかっぱαあるふぁὶ τたうὴνにゅー ζημίαν

22And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.

22κかっぱαあるふぁὶ τたうὰ νにゅーῦνにゅー παραινῶ ὑμみゅーᾶς εいぷしろんὐθυμεῖνにゅー ἀποβολὴ γがんまὰρろー ψぷさいυうぷしろんχかいῆς οおみくろんὐδεμία ἔσται ἐξくしー ὑμみゅーῶνにゅー πぱいλらむだὴνにゅー τたうοおみくろんῦ πλοίου

23For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

23παρέστη γάρ μみゅーοおみくろんιいおた ταύτῃ τたうῇ νにゅーυうぷしろんκかっぱτたうὶ τたうοおみくろんῦ Θしーたεいぷしろんοおみくろんῦ οおみくろんὗ εいぷしろんἰμみゅーιいおた [ἐγώ] ᾧ κかっぱαあるふぁὶ λατρεύω ἄγγελος

24Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

24λέγων Μみゅーὴ φふぁいοおみくろんβべーたοおみくろんῦ Πぱいαあるふぁῦλらむだεいぷしろん Καίσαρί σしぐまεいぷしろん δでるたεいぷしろんῖ παραστῆνにゅーαあるふぁιいおた κかっぱαあるふぁὶ ἰδでるたοおみくろんὺ κεχάρισταί σしぐまοおみくろんιいおた ὁ Θしーたεいぷしろんὸς πάντας τたうοおみくろんὺς πλέοντας μみゅーεいぷしろんτたうὰ σしぐまοおみくろんῦ

25Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

25Δでるたιいおたὸ εいぷしろんὐθυμεῖτたうεいぷしろん ἄνδρες πιστεύω γがんまὰρろー τたうῷ Θしーたεいぷしろんῷ ὅτたうιいおた οおみくろんὕτως ἔσται κかっぱαあるふぁθしーた’ ὃνにゅー τρόπον λελάληταί μみゅーοおみくろんιいおた

26Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

26εいぷしろんἰς νにゅーῆσしぐまοおみくろんνにゅー δέ τたうιいおたνにゅーαあるふぁ δでるたεいぷしろんῖ ἡμみゅーᾶς ἐκπεσεῖνにゅー

27But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

27Ὡς δでるたὲ τεσσαρεσκαιδεκάτη νにゅーὺξくしー ἐγένετο διαφερομένων ἡμみゅーῶνにゅー ἐνにゅー τたうῷ Ἀδρίᾳ κかっぱαあるふぁτたうὰ μέσον τたうῆς νにゅーυうぷしろんκかっぱτたうὸς ὑπενόουν οおみくろんἱ νにゅーαあるふぁῦτたうαあるふぁιいおた προσάγειν τたうιいおたνにゅーὰ αあるふぁὐτたうοおみくろんῖς χώραν

28And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

28κかっぱαあるふぁὶ βολίσαντες εいぷしろんὗρろーοおみくろんνにゅー ὀργυιὰς εいぷしろんἴκοσι βべーたρろーαあるふぁχかいὺ δでるたὲ διαστήσαντες κかっぱαあるふぁὶ πάλιν βολίσαντες εいぷしろんὗρろーοおみくろんνにゅー ὀργυιὰς δεκαπέντε

29Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

29φοβούμενοί τたうεいぷしろん μή πぱいοおみくろんυうぷしろん κかっぱαあるふぁτたうὰ τραχεῖς τόπους ἐκπέσωμεν ἐκかっぱ πρύμνης ῥίψαντες ἀγκύρας τέσσαρας ηいーたὔχοντο ἡμέραν γενέσθαι

30And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

30Τたうῶνにゅー δでるたὲ νにゅーαあるふぁυうぷしろんτたうῶνにゅー ζητούντων φふぁいυうぷしろんγがんまεいぷしろんῖνにゅー ἐκかっぱ τたうοおみくろんῦ πλοίου κかっぱαあるふぁὶ χαλασάντων τたうὴνにゅー σκάφην εいぷしろんἰς τたうὴνにゅー θάλασσαν προφάσει ὡς ἐκかっぱ πぱいρろーῴρης ἀγκύρας μελλόντων ἐκτείνειν

31Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

31εいぷしろんἶπぱいεいぷしろんνにゅー ὁ Πぱいαあるふぁῦλος τたうῷ ἑκατοντάρχῃ κかっぱαあるふぁὶ τたうοおみくろんῖς στρατιώταις Ἐὰνにゅー μみゅーὴ οおみくろんὗτたうοおみくろんιいおた μείνωσιν ἐνにゅー τたうῷ πλοίῳ ὑμみゅーεいぷしろんῖς σしぐまωおめがθしーたῆνにゅーαあるふぁιいおた οおみくろんὐ δύνασθε

32Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.

32τότε ἀπέκοψαν οおみくろんἱ στρατιῶτたうαあるふぁιいおた τたうὰ σχοινία τたうῆς σκάφης κかっぱαあるふぁὶ εいぷしろんἴαあるふぁσしぐまαあるふぁνにゅー αあるふぁὐτたうὴνにゅー ἐκπεσεῖνにゅー

33And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

33Ἄχかいρろーιいおた δでるたὲ οおみくろんὗ ἡμέρα ἤμελλεν γίνεσθαι παρεκάλει ὁ Πぱいαあるふぁῦλος ἅπαντας μεταλαβεῖνにゅー τたうρろーοおみくろんφふぁいῆς λέγων Τεσσαρεσκαιδεκάτην σήμερον ἡμέραν προσδοκῶντες ἄσιτοι διατελεῖτたうεいぷしろん μみゅーηいーたθしーたὲνにゅー προσλαβόμενοι

34Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

34δでるたιいおたὸ παρακαλῶ ὑμみゅーᾶς μεταλαβεῖνにゅー τたうρろーοおみくろんφふぁいῆς τたうοおみくろんῦτたうοおみくろん γがんまὰρろー πぱいρろーὸς τたうῆς ὑμετέρας σωτηρίας ὑπάρχει οおみくろんὐδでるたεいぷしろんνにゅーὸς γがんまὰρろー ὑμみゅーῶνにゅー θしーたρろーὶξくしー ἀπぱいὸ τたうῆς κεφαλῆς ἀπολεῖτたうαあるふぁιいおた

35And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

35Εいぷしろんἴπας δでるたὲ τたうαあるふぁῦτたうαあるふぁ κかっぱαあるふぁὶ λらむだαあるふぁβべーたὼνにゅー ἄρτον εいぷしろんὐχαρίστησεν τたうῷ Θしーたεいぷしろんῷ ἐνώπιον πάντων κかっぱαあるふぁὶ κλάσας ἤρξατο ἐσθίειν

36Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.

36εいぷしろんὔθυμοι δでるたὲ γενόμενοι πάντες κかっぱαあるふぁὶ αあるふぁὐτたうοおみくろんὶ προσελάβοντο τたうρろーοおみくろんφふぁいῆς

37And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

37ἤμεθα δでるたὲ αあるふぁἱ πぱいᾶσしぐまαあるふぁιいおた ψぷさいυうぷしろんχかいαあるふぁὶ ἐνにゅー τたうῷ πλοίῳ διακόσιαι ἑβδομήκοντα ἕξくしー

38And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

38κορεσθέντες δでるたὲ τたうρろーοおみくろんφふぁいῆς ἐκούφιζον τたうὸ πぱいλらむだοおみくろんῖοおみくろんνにゅー ἐκβαλλόμενοι τたうὸνにゅー σしぐまῖτたうοおみくろんνにゅー εいぷしろんἰς τたうὴνにゅー θάλασσαν

39And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

39Ὅτたうεいぷしろん δでるたὲ ἡμέρα ἐγένετο τたうὴνにゅー γがんまῆνにゅー οおみくろんὐκかっぱ ἐπεγίνωσκον κόλπον δέ τたうιいおたνにゅーαあるふぁ κατενόουν ἔχοντα αあるふぁἰγιαλὸνにゅー εいぷしろんἰς ὃνにゅー ἐβουλεύοντο εいぷしろんἰ δύναιντο ἐξくしーῶσしぐまαあるふぁιいおた τたうὸ πぱいλらむだοおみくろんῖοおみくろんνにゅー

40And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

40κかっぱαあるふぁὶ τたうὰς ἀγκύρας περιελόντες εいぷしろんἴωおめがνにゅー εいぷしろんἰς τたうὴνにゅー θάλασσαν ἅμみゅーαあるふぁ ἀνέντες τたうὰς ζευκτηρίας τたうῶνにゅー πηδαλίων κかっぱαあるふぁὶ ἐπάραντες τたうὸνにゅー ἀρτέμωνα τたうῇ πνεούσῃ κかっぱαあるふぁτたうεいぷしろんῖχかいοおみくろんνにゅー εいぷしろんἰς τたうὸνにゅー αあるふぁἰγιαλόν

41And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

41περιπεσόντες δでるたὲ εいぷしろんἰς τόπον διθάλασσον ἐπέκειλαν τたうὴνにゅー νにゅーαあるふぁῦνにゅー κかっぱαあるふぁὶ ἡ μみゅーὲνにゅー πぱいρろーῷρろーαあるふぁ ἐρείσασα ἔμεινεν ἀσάλευτος ἡ δでるたὲ πρύμνα ἐλύετο ὑπぱいὸ τたうῆς βίας [τたうῶνにゅー κυμάτων]

42And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

42Τたうῶνにゅー δでるたὲ στρατιωτῶνにゅー βべーたοおみくろんυうぷしろんλらむだὴ ἐγένετο ἵνにゅーαあるふぁ τたうοおみくろんὺς δεσμώτας ἀποκτείνωσιν μή τις ἐκκολυμβήσας διαφύγῃ

43But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

43ὁ δでるたὲ ἑκατοντάρχης βουλόμενος δでるたιいおたαあるふぁσしぐまῶσしぐまαあるふぁιいおた τたうὸνにゅー Πぱいαあるふぁῦλらむだοおみくろんνにゅー ἐκώλυσεν αあるふぁὐτたうοおみくろんὺς τたうοおみくろんῦ βουλήματος ἐκέλευσέν τたうεいぷしろん τたうοおみくろんὺς δυναμένους κολυμβᾶνにゅー ἀπορίψαντας πρώτους ἐπぱいὶ τたうὴνにゅー γがんまῆνにゅー ἐξιέναι

44And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
