District Plan changes

Revision to the District Plan continues with an ongoing programme of review, monitoring and research.

We are required to review each provision in the Plan every ten years.  You can have your say on proposed plan changes by visiting the public consultation link on this site.

Designations can be added or amended by means of a notified or non-notified Notice of Requirement (NoR).  Where these changes are notified, you can also have your say by visiting the currently consultation link on this site.

A Plan Change can also be requested by any person through the Private Plan Change process.

This document explains the process for requesting a change to the operative part of a District Plan.

The Dunedin City District Plan has a number of Operative or Withdrawn Plan Changes, New Designations and Designation Amendments.  These are listed in the table on this page.

A complete schedule of all the amendments made by way of plan change, settlement of appeals, designation additions and amendments, significant tree removals and correction of errors that have been identified in the Plan since it became operative in part on 19 April 2004 are listed in the District Plan Update Schedule listed on the District Plan changes update for plan holders page.
